Hola amigos de @Hive, especialmente a la comunidad de @HiveCuba, en el día de hoy paso por acá para contarles un poco acerca de la celebración del cumple de mi hermana @mrnaranjo85, pues ya hace otro año más que nació y se nos está poniendo vieja ja, ja, ja, si me lee me mata ja, ja, ja. Nada, resulta que cumple otro año más de vida, y uno no cumple años todos los días, pues sencillamente no queríamos pasarlo por alto.
Se sabe y está de más decir que por esta zona del caribe últimamente la situación económica no está muy buena, así que no sería algo de mucha categoría, pero sí por todo lo alto, ja, ja, ja, pues nos fuimos a celebrar para una tercera planta de edificio que radica justo en su casa, así que por esa parte no nos podemos quejar ja, ja, ja.
Desde temprano se comenzó a preparar lo que se haría ese día, y como los apagones están bien recurrentes, pues había que cocinar todo lo de comer con bastante tiempo, para que no nos agarrara el apagón a medio cocinar, y poder tener todo listo para la celebración, así que pusimos manos a la obra, mi mamá se puso e hizo el característico congrí tradicional cubano que aquí a todos nos encanta, yo me puse a hacer el pollo y unas yucas, mientras que mi hermana hacia unas fritas y freía unas croquetas.
Todo eso era adelantando las comidas, pues para el almuerzo tendríamos comida italiana, unos espaguetis que se hicieron y una pizza familiar que mi hermana encargó, que por cierto estaba sabrosa, también acompañado de empanadas y refrescos, para completar el almuerzo. Sobre las 10 de la mañana llegó nuestra familia paterna y entonces ahí comenzó la celebración cuando estábamos todos juntos. Sacamos nuestra botellita de vino y pusimos nuestra música, que no duró mucho, pues al poco rato se fue la corriente, pero bueno eso no empañaría nuestro día.
Sobre la 1 de la tarde degustamos del almuerzo italiano y para despertar del decaimiento del vino y la comida recargamos pilas con un sabroso cafecito. La mejor parte siempre es la de conversar y reír en familia, los niños en sus travesuras de aquí para allá y de allá para acá, pero al final del día son los que más nos dan alegrías. Ya a las 3 de la tarde la familia paterna se tenía que ir, pues, eran de muy lejos y el tiempo estaba poniéndose malo porque venía en camino el ciclón "Helen" por el cual actualmente estamos atravesando, y sin pensarlo más decidimos partir el pastel, para que no les cogiera muy tarde por ahí.
Partimos el pastel y cantamos feliz cumpleaños, ya que eso nunca puede faltar, por cierto el pastel estaba sabroso, aún recuerdo su dulzor en mi boca, despedimos a mis tíos para que no los cogiera el mal tiempo y gracias a Dios llegaron bien a su destino, pues seguimos mediante llamadas telefónicas todo su recorrido. Cómo les había dicho, la comida ya estaba lista, pues la habíamos hecho antes de que llegara el apagón, así que cuando llegó la hora comimos y listo.
En fin el cumple de mi hermana no dejamos que pasara por alto, pero si lo hicimos en las alturas, nos pasamos el día bebiendo y en comer y volver a comer, picamos el pastel y cantamos felicidades, pues son las tradiciones de nosotros los cubanos, y con lo cual mi hermana quedó muy satisfecha, pero lo que más le gusto de su cumple, pues, se le notaba en el rostro fue vernos a todos reunidos, y es realmente de lo único que tomé fotografías, pues creo que fue la parte más importante del día, y además la que más nos hizo a todos más feliz.
Sin más que contar por acá ya me despido, pero no sin antes decirles que atesoren esos momentos hermosos que suceden en nuestras vidas, como las de estar todos reunidos en familia en el mismo lugar, no importa el motivo ni la fecha, solo importa estar todos juntos, pues muchos carecen de esas cosas que a veces no siempre sabemos apreciar. It is well known and needless to say that in this area of the Caribbean the economic situation is not very good lately, so it would not be something very high class, but it would be something very high class, ha, ha, ha, ha, because we went to celebrate on the third floor of a building that is right in his house, so we can not complain about that part ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
Early in the morning we started to prepare what would be done that day, and as the blackouts are very recurrent, we had to cook everything to eat with plenty of time, so that the blackout would not catch us half cooked, and to have everything ready for the celebration, so we got down to work, my mom got down to work and made the characteristic traditional Cuban congrí that we all love here, I started to make the chicken and some yuccas, while my sister made some fries and fried some croquettes.
All that was anticipating the meals, because for lunch we would have Italian food, some spaghetti that was made and a family pizza that my sister ordered, which by the way was tasty, also accompanied by empanadas and soft drinks, to complete the lunch. Around 10 am our paternal family arrived and then the celebration began when we were all together. We took out our little bottle of wine and put on our music, which did not last long, because soon after the power went out, but well that would not tarnish our day.
Around 1 pm we enjoyed our Italian lunch and to wake up from the wine and food we recharged our batteries with a tasty coffee. The best part is always chatting and laughing with the family, the children in their antics back and forth, but at the end of the day they are the ones who give us the most joy. Already at 3 o'clock in the afternoon the paternal family had to leave, because they were from far away and the weather was getting bad because the cyclone "Helen", which we are currently going through, was on its way, and without thinking it over we decided to split the cake, so that it would not catch them too late out there.
We broke the cake and sang happy birthday, since that can never be missing, by the way the cake was tasty, I still remember its sweetness in my mouth, we said goodbye to my uncles so they would not be caught by the bad weather and thank God they arrived safely to their destination, because we followed by phone calls all their journey. As I had told you, the food was already ready, as we had made it before the blackout, so when the time came we ate and that was it.
We spent the day drinking and eating and eating again, we ate the cake and sang congratulations, as these are the traditions of us Cubans, and with which my sister was very satisfied, But what she liked most about her birthday, well, you could see it on her face was seeing us all together, and it is really the only thing I took pictures of, because I think it was the most important part of the day, and also the one that made us all the happiest.
