Una mirada al Parque Pionero y a mis recuerdos de infancia (Es-En)

Hace ya unas semanas visité un lugar al que no había ido en mucho tiempo: el Parque Pionero, el lugar más divertido para los niños de mi provincia me atrevería a decir, puesto que es el único parque de diversiones que tenemos. De niña me llevaban casi todos los fines de semana a este parque, que solo quedaba a dos cuadras de mi casa (que afortunada), y aunque no es un parque muy sofisticado, con aparatos y atracciones deslumbrantes, lo recuerdo con mucha nostalgia y cariño por los buenos momentos vividos allí.

La razón de mi regreso aquí fue para acompañar a mi esposo y a su hermanita Sabrina, pues a ella le encanta venir a este lugar. Nada más entrar sentí una nostalgia inmensa y mientras recorríamos el lugar, montando a Sabrina en todos los aparatos, tuve esta sensación de tirarle foto a todo y me invadieron mis recuerdos de infancia de todos los momentos que pasé aquí cuando era una niña.

Cada aparato y rincón del Paquito (así es como mejor conocemos a este parque) me hacía volver en el tiempo y me daban ganas de volver a tener 10 años, pues en este parque todos los aparatos están diseñados para niños, los adultos solamente pueden montar en las sillas voladoras, pero esa atracción nunca me gustó mucho.

En fin, permítanme darles el recorrido por el parque y a la misma vez por mis recuerdos. Será como un antes y un después, reflexionando en como han cambiado las cosas en estos 15 años, pues creo que la última vez que vine tenía 13 años (hagan las matemáticas y sabrán mi edad actual 😅).

Esta es la entrada principal al Parque Pionero y le decimos "El Paquito" ya que lleva el nombre de Paquito González, el primer pionero mártir de Cuba, que murió con solo 13 años. El parque abre a las 10 de la mañana sábados y domingos, y siempre está lleno de niños.

Esta era la otra entrada, al entrar por ahí también se podían comprar los tickets para los aparatos, aunque ahora esto solo funciona por la entrada principal y esta puerta ahora se mantiene cerrada.

Recuerdo que lo primero que hacíamos al entrar era la cola para comprar los tickets, eso no ha cambiado, aunque su precio sí. El lugar de venta sigue siendo el mismo, la torre.

Luego empezábamos a montar en los diferentes aparatos y dejábamos para lo último los juegos que no necesitaran de tickets, como las sillitas, las canales y los cachumbambés. Los avioncitos eran los primeros, pues eran los más cercanos a la entrada. En realidad son como una especie de carrusel, el parque está lleno de este tipo de aparatos. Que lástima que hoy en día los avioncitos no estén funcionando.

Los caballitos son uno de los aparatos más populares en el parque, aquí siempre vienen muchos niños, incluso los más pequeños dan el paseo con sus padres al lado. Me gusta mucho como toda esta área está rodeada de árboles, por lo que hay bastante sombra. Ahí vemos a Daniel (@theoneblog) con su hermanita.

En este carrusel todos los asientos son caballos, excepto por dos jicoteas. Yo recuerdo cuando era niña que mis amigos y yo siempre queríamos montar en las jicoteas, pues era algo diferente. Me gusta ver que esta atracción se conserva en buen estado, aunque no sé a quién se le ocurrió la brillante idea de pintar a todos los caballos como si fueran vacas. ¿Qué pasó con los demás colores? Al menos las jicoteas son verdes, pero verde enteras. Yo recuerdo que en este aspecto había variedad de colores, por lo menos se diferenciaba entre el caparazón y el sombrero, se prestaba mayor atención a detalles como estos.

Estos dos carruseles a continuación son muy parecidos, aunque los asientos son diferentes, solo el de la izquierda se encuentra funcionando hoy en día.

Me pareció muy bien que los botes todavía estuvieran funcionando, era de mis aparatos preferidos del parque. El agua solo está a un metro de altura, pero era bastante divertido.

A falta de una montaña rusa la estrella era, sin dudas, la mayor atracción de este parque, me da mucha pena que no esté funcionando. Recuerdo las largas colas que se hacían, pues era lo más divertido del parque.

Las sillitas voladoras son la única atracción del parque en la que los adultos pueden tener su momento de diversión junto a los niños, me alegra ver que sigan funcionando.

Estos son todos los aparatos en los que necesitas un ticket, los demás no necesitan mucho mantenimiento y son igual de divertidos. Me refiero a las canales, los cachumbambés, los columpios y el tiovivo. De estos hay varios por todo el parque.

La canal del elefante era bastante única, ya que no era nada parecida a las demás con estructura de hierro. Veanla por ustedes mismos.

Esta es el área de los cuadritos así le digo yo 😅), recuerdo que divertido era ir de un lado a otro por arriba de esos cuadritos de colores, aunque este no era su propósito. En realidad, eran asientos, ya que en en ese lugar que ven ahí se hacían espectáculos infantiles con payasos y títeres. Actualmente nada de eso se hace, los cuadritos han perdido su color y hasta la maleza ha crecido.

Hay algo que han incorporado nuevo desde hace solo unos años, y es la parte que más disfruta Sabrina. Son los animales de verdad, unos pequeños caballos en los que, por un precio bastante módico, los niños pueden dar una vuelta, acompañados por un adulto por supuesto. Además, un pequeña carreta llevada por un chivo. A los niños más pequeños les encanta. Pero esto no es todo, también hay un trampolín y un castillo inflable, son cosas que atraen mucho a los niños.

Ahora les quisiera enseñar unas fotos de mi niñez aquí en el Parque Pionero, como una forma de comparación, un antes y un después, recuerdos que siempre vivirán en mí.

Aquí estoy con mi prima, que vivía en el municipio de San Juan y sus padres la traían los fines de semana a la ciudad para poder ir al Parque.

CONCLUSIONES

En resumen, me gustó mucho volver al parque, ya que como dije, me trae muy bonitos recuerdos, y aunque muchas cosas han cambiado y muchas de las atracciones no estén funcionando, me parece bien que hayan incorporado nuevas cosas para atraer a los niños. Al final lo importante es que este parque se mantiene funcionando y cada fin de semana los niños pueden encontrar allí un lugar para divertirse y pasarla bien.

A few weeks ago I visited a place I hadn't been to in a long time: Parque Pionero, the most fun place for children in my province I would dare to say, since it is the only amusement park we have. As a child I was taken almost every weekend to this park, which was only two blocks from my house (lucky me 😅), and although it is not a very sophisticated park, with dazzling apparatus and attractions, I remember it with much nostalgia and affection for the good times spent there.

The reason I came back here was to accompany my husband and his little sister Sabrina, as she loves coming to this place. As soon as I walked in I felt an immense nostalgia and as we toured the place, riding Sabrina on all of the rides, I had this feeling of taking pictures of everything and I was invaded by my childhood memories of all the times I spent here when I was a little girl.

Every single apparatus and corner of Paquito (that's how we know this park better) made me go back in time and made me want to be 10 years old again, because in this park all the apparatus are designed for children, adults can only ride on the flying chairs, but I never liked that attraction very much.

Anyway, let me give you the tour through the park and at the same time, through my memories. It will be like a before and after, reflecting on how things have changed in these 15 years, as I think the last time I came I was 13 years old (do the math and you will know my current age 😅).

This is the main entrance to the Pioneer Park and we call it "El Paquito" because it is named after Paquito Gonzalez, Cuba's first pioneer martyr, who died at the age of 13. The park opens at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and is always full of children.

This was the other entrance, by entering through there you could also buy tickets for the rides, although this now only works through the main entrance and this door is now kept closed.

I remember that the first thing we did when we entered was to queue to buy tickets, that has not changed, although the price has. The place of sale is still the same, the tower.

Then we started to ride the different devices and left for the last the games that did not require tickets, such as the little chairs, the canals and the cachumbambés. The little airplanes were the first ones, since they were the closest to the entrance. Actually they are like a kind of carousel, the park is full of this type of apparatus. What a pity that nowadays the little airplanes are not working.

The horses carousel is one of the most popular devices in the park, there are always a lot of children here, even the youngest ones take the ride with their parents by their side. I really like how this whole area is surrounded by trees, so there is plenty of shade. Here we see Daniel (@theoneblog) with his little sister.

On this carousel all the seats are horses, except for two turtles. I remember as a child my friends and I always wanted to sit on the turtles, because it was something different. I like to see that this attraction is still in good condition, although I don't know who came up with the bright idea to paint all the horses as if they were cows. What happened to the other colors? At least the turtles are green, but whole green. I remember that in this aspect there was a variety of colors, at least there was a difference between the carapace and the hat, more attention was paid to details like these.

These two carousels below are very similar, although the seats are different, only the one on the left is in operation today.

I thought it was pretty cool that the boats were still running, it was one of my favorite things in the park. The water is only about three feet high, but it was pretty fun.

In the absence of a roller coaster, the star was undoubtedly the biggest attraction of this park, I am very sad that it is not working. I remember the long lines, it was the most fun of the park.

The flying chairs are the only attraction in the park where adults can have their moment of fun together with the children, I'm glad to see that they are still working.

These are all the devices where you need a ticket, the others don't need much maintenance and are just as much fun. I am referring to the sliders, the kiddie rides, the swings and the merry-go-round. There are several of these all over the park.

The elephant slider was quite unique, as it was nothing like the other iron-framed sliders. See for yourself.

This is the area of the squares, that's what I call it 😅), I remember how fun it was to go from one side to the other on top of those colored squares, although this was not their purpose. Actually, they were seats, because in that place you see there were held children's shows with clowns and puppets. Nowadays none of that is done, the squares have lost their color and even the weed has grown.

There is one thing that has been new since just a few years ago, and it is the part that Sabrina enjoys the most. They are the real animals, small horses on which, for a fairly modest price, children can go for a ride, accompanied by an adult of course. There is also a small cart pulled by a goat. The younger children love it. But that's not all, there is also a trampoline and a bouncy castle, things that are very attractive to children.

CONCLUSIONS

In summary, I really enjoyed going back to the park, because as I said, it brings back very nice memories, and although many things have changed and many of the attractions are not working, I think it is good that they have incorporated new things to attract children. In the end the important thing is that this park is still running and every weekend the kids can find a place to have fun and have a good time.
