My world, that light behind the words

Hello. I am Yelaine Martínez Herrera, journalist, writer, photography enthusiast, mother of two beautiful little ones. I like honest, persevering, humble people.
Art is something I have been passionate about since I was a child and it has been my lifeline, the food of my soul. I try to learn from everyone and everything, find poetry at every step, smile despite the vicissitudes. I have won awards in literature and journalism competitions, but the biggest prize has been winning people’s hearts, telling stories, being a chronicler of reality.
I have published the book Tatuajes en el alma, by the publisher Letra Viva, which is available on Amazon, and also my works appear in some anthologies. I teach at Las Tunas University of History of Language and Universal Literature. As a reporter, I specialize in cultural topics.

I love psychology, especially understanding human behavior. I am a hopeless lover of nature. I love in large quantities and always go around trying to help everyone who can. I like to read, watch adventure movies, go camping in the countryside, create some crafts and, of course, write.
Although I belong to the world of letters, I hear more than I speak, because I believe that there lies true wisdom.
I like to talk with older adults and, in that constant dialogue with artists, I am discovering potential in the field of cultural criticism, venturing with reviews, book presentations and some other conferences.
I come from a humble family, mostly rural people, but authentic. I have been the "intellectual" of my family tree, a title that I do not believe in, because I feel that I am growing and from all my people I learn a lot too. I love challenges; I never think of "can’t" but "if God is with me, who’s against me".

My children are still small. The older one reminds me a lot of me as a child: always creating. Draw, craft, ask a lot of questions, observe, analyze and always want to learn something new. The little one is more giggly and restless, expresses his feelings with ease and always has a "mom, I love you" within reach. They are my strength, my inspiration.
And so, in this attempt to leave a mark on life, learning from the essences, I reinvent myself. But, beyond everything, I am a simple and analytical woman who tries to find colors in life and always have something to tell and I try to do it in such a way that it moves us and makes us better human beings.
I expect Hive Cuba to connect with spiritual people, with something to say and, above all, good people. So, by the way, we grow together.
He travels with me to the interior of words, to his soul, ours.
