Well Hello There Horsepower Lovers!!

A Temporary Fix!

So the next door shop has a pickup that they need desperately for the day! They need to drive quite far and they are unsure if the thing will make it!

So we are going to make it a little safer, wont be fixing it up but we will make sure it gets there and back today!
Unfortunately the parts needed wont be here for a long time!

It's clear that there is some kind of mess over there! Something is worn and it wore out the seal!

Worn out isn't even the word that can be used! However I have seen much worse condition on these things!

Get wrecked

It is heavy worn out on the selector shaft! Now to fix that one we will have to remove the entire transmission and we will have to tear down the entire thing.

But for today we will just be fixing it up so that it can drive, when the parts arrive we can do some serious teardowns!

The Worn Dell!

This is the reason why this entire link is loose!

I am not too sure why this stuff happens, maybe because of an exescive force being applied to it on the daily, but still it sits in there pretty solid but that is beside the point, they wear out and that is a good thing for us right!?

Business business!

Well this thing was legitly almost on the way out! Almost! Glad we caught it!

Now before we get this thing back into the vehicle I think it needs a nice cleaning off!

All the grime and grease making it even more worn out!

A Nice Setup!

So I got me a new bolt and nut, one that has a neck on it as well!

Now it's not going to keep it tight but it will keep it on the shaft for quite a while longer!
At-least they know it's safe now! But heck I wish I could have done more but doing more required a great deal of work to turn out a bush for the shaft, the problem is that the bush will have to be turned off centre to fit in nice and snug!

So replacing the shaft is a better option, a much better option!

I did cut it a little shorter though! Making a neat job of it! Now let's get it back in there and have the vehicle working again!

Take note this is not a how to guide, merely myself talking about the work I do and my thoughts around certain things.

I don’t know much about fixing cars, but it’s amazing how you managed to find a temporary fix and keep the vehicle safe for the day.
