The Jag Build!

Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

Finally The Jag Build!

Now remember when I tore down that absolute wreck of a transmission that is from a Jaguar the other day!

Now funny story, turns out I tore down the complete wrong transmission there! Bossman said pull the Jag apart and I grabbed the first one that showed! LAUGHS!

I did however in the mean time already started pulling her apart!
Now to spread all the parts, clean them and inspect them!

Here comes the tedious bit!

Also I did mention this in the other post! How absolutely ironic is it that this transmission comes out in the FORD, the Jaguar and The BMW? Like what the heck!

Yes it's much smaller, much much smaller but it is exactly the same, just upscaled on the Ford pickups! That is legitly all there is to it! They changed how some of the thrust washers looked and stuff, probably for trademark purposes but every damn thing is the same!

Ironic isn't it!

I have two tables, one on both sides of where I work! On the one table is all the dirty parts!

On the other is all the parts that I have cleaned and inspected!

I am bamfaffled! Seriously I am! These bushes are so worn out it's a miracle that this car even drove! Like they aren't damaged, there is no actual steel anywhere but they are worn out like bad!

The clearances between them are horrid!

For those wondering that ring in the centre of the drum is the bush, it's where an opposing shaft presses into and sort of seals but not, giving very little clearance, about 0.05 to 0.08! Now these are about like 0.3 which is hectic!

I've never even seen this one the high torwue pickups! How long has he been driving this vehicle! Without it ever actually failing!

This is the effect of the bushes wearing out!

Now this effect didn't really effect, I mean it could have been much much worse! But it just simply damaged one clutch plate! One of the 8 in that drum!

Sometimes things just don't add up, don't ask me why dont ask me how but sometimes they just don't!
Matter of the fact is that we will still replace all of these clutch plates!

Well I still have this one to tackle tomorrow!

Now the problem here is we don't tear down the drums! So cleaning it is a little bit of a mission!

The problem isn't exactly the piston but more so the build up off gunk! So cleaning them out is a priority! But let's hope the bushes arrive by tomorrow!

Then we can have a nice build up on the transmission! I still have to tear down the valve-body and clean that one up too! So tomorrow will be very busy! Lets get it!

jajaja made me laugh right way with dissembling the wrong transmission, I bet that took a few hours, this is the kind of work that till today I dont know anyone doing in Panama, putting this transmissions into pieces including the valve body ✌️

hahaha. it happens to all of us. The strip that one and both people are on different pages. I believe that nothing is wasted effort though. Somewhere down the line you are ahead on your work🤣
