Hello Hiveans,

Good morning Nigerian Hive Community

A beautiful morning to everyone.

This is my entry for #mycountry initiative by @theycallmedan.

My Country! Nigeria, my country! Filled with milk and honey. Endowed with so much natural resources. Nigeria, my country. Fondly called Naija or 9ja. The only country with so many nicks.

Nigeria is the country in Africa with the highest population of about 170 million people, no wonder we have the nickname "Giants of Africa". It is located on the Western coast of the African continent. We have hundred of tribes and languages such as Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Tiv Edo, Fulani, and so on. I'm from the Yoruba tribe and I was born in the Western part of Nigeria, Osun State to be precise.

I'd be talking about some notable qualities and attributes I like about my country.

FOOD

Are you wondering why I started with food. Haha. Trust me, we have one of the best indigenous food in the world in Nigeria. We have a lot of locally made food and soups such as Amala (yam flour), fufu (Cassava flour), Masa (a mashed food derived from rice), eba (from Cassava flakes), Egusi soup, Ogbono soup, efo rírọ etc. You could take some moment to check up what these food looks like on Google. Lest I forget, we are well known for our Naija Jollof. It's a must eat when you visit Nigeria. Haha

CULTURE

Nigerian culture is rich and classy. Our cultural heritage is different and this is as a result of our different tribes. Each tribe have their unique way of dressing, speaking and dancing. Most Nigerian indigenous outfits are embodied with coral beads, hats and traditional outfits. For the Yoruba tribe, a typical Yoruba man's dressing is incomplete without fìlà (cap), agbada (a large robe worn over a dress) and beads. We also have our unique dance steps that's going to thrill you and you wouldn't want to go back to your country. LOL

FESTIVALS

This is a popular thing Nigerians are known for all over the world. We have annual Festival celebrations to commemorate and celebrate certain moment in time, or people etc. We have a popular festival that is been attended by delegates from all over the World, it is called Calabar Festival. It holds in Calabar, Cross River states, Nigeria. We have other Festivals such as Olojo Festival in Ile Ife, Osun State, Eyo Festival in Lagos State, New yam Festival, celebrated by farmers.

WEATHER

Nigeria has three weather seasons and they are raining season dry season and harmatan season. The Raining Season starts at about March and gets it to its high point in June. It is followed by a brief dry season in August, fondly called August break. Then the Harmatan starts in November and ends in the beginning of March, thereabout.

Nigeria, my dear country

Sweet Nigeria

Naija for life

Big ups to @theycallmedan for the #mycountry initiative
