I wrote a post about 2 weeks ago about looking at the things you eat every day. Here is a link to that post!
It was a lead-up to telling you about the changes in my diet I have made. First I am not a doctor! I am sharing with you the things I am doing for me personally and my experiences with that change in eating habits. So if you are not sure about a change for yourself go and discuss it with your doctor. For me, this has been a good change, not only in my diet but in a lifestyle change.

I quit eating refined sugars and cut down all the carbs I could in what I ate every day. It was not an easy thing to do as I was out and about and got hungry and grabbed a soda and a candy bar. I was always on the go and never took into consideration what all of that was doing to me and my body. After a day of getting projects done, it was easy to throw in a pizza and call it good. Sitting home at night and getting bored and eating from boredom, just a little ice cream here and a handful of Hersey miniatures there.
I had gained a lot of weight and it was making it harder for me to function, as most of you know, I have knee problems. It was harder for me to get up and move and slowing me down. The final straw was one night we were teasing the grandboys about all the late-night snacking they do and told them they will get fat if they do not slow down on that. What one of them said next hit me like a bombshell "Yeah, we will look like papa and be fat!". At that moment I knew I had to do something about the weight I was carrying around, I had been on "diets" before and watched what I eat and never really did any good. Tried the pills and never seemed to work. So I started looking into this Keto diet, I really would not call it a diet but a lifestyle.
You cut out all the carbs like bread made from wheat flour, potatoes, Even things like beans and peas. It was hard to think about it little alone do it. I set in trying it and thought man I will always be hungry and it will be not fun at all and really be hard to stick with. I had to try and see if it was going to work, I had to do something. I gave it a go.
I cleaned out my cabinets and refrigerator of all the junk food and there was not really anything left after that, I had to start over! I started researching what I could eat and what the purpose of Keto was. Went to the store and got some meat, then realized man I have to cook now, no more processed quick foods. I have never been a fan of things like broccoli, cauliflower, and avocados. I wanted to keep net carbs down to around 20 net carbs but could go to 50 net carbs a day. So you have to look at all the labels on everything you pick up in the store. To find the net carbs in something you take the total carbs and subtract the grams of fiber and sugar alcohols from total carbs and you have net carbs.
For help understanding this here is a website to visit!
It will be much easier for you as you can see it and I will not confuse you by trying to explain it. That website will also have some more info if you are interested. There is much to this "diet" look it up on the internet and do some research, why too much about this to put in this post.

You can look in the grocery store and you can find Keto things, like Keto bread, keto pizzas, even Keto cheesecake. Just be sure to look at the labels and make sure they are right for you. I really thought it would be hard to do this but found out after the first couple of days it is not that hard. As I do not get hungry in between meals that much and stay busy with something and it is pretty easy to do. I am happy I started this as I have lost 23 pounds since starting this about 2 weeks or so. At first, you will lose water weight, and then weight loss will slow down. I have stuck with it and I feel much better than before. I just plain feel better during the day, sleep better at night. For me, this has been a great decision and I have no regrets at all about this.
I have found a YouTube Channel that has helped me a lot in my journey.
