Insects In The Neighbourhood

While going out this afternoon, I noticed a lot of dragonflies and other insects on the plants close to my house. Unlike every other day that at the sight of me they all fly away, today was different. They were no longer scared of me. I went close to one and it was looking at me fiercely. I got so scared at some point but then I summed up courage, picked up my phone and started taking pictures of them.

While wondering what was happening, I remembered that dragon flies are insect that feeds on mosquitoes and other insects. Maybe they were having a feast on this particular day.

While taking pictures of them, a passerby shouted "What are you doing in the bush? I think you're insane". She said that because over here, taking pictures of insect is not that common. Seeing me do such a thing made her felt I was losing my mind. At first I felt bad with such statement. But I later got over it. Cause i'm so sure such a statement was made out of ignorance.

I really wonder what this dragonfly was seriously feeding on. It was so focused on what it was doing that it barely even noticed me

I don't really know if this is a butterfly. But then it was so focused

I came across this black and yellow garden spider having lunch. These specie of spiders normally create their webs in an open environment and they rarely bite. They are mostly active during the day and at that moment, anything that gets entangled in their web is definitely going to be a meal.

One amazing thing about this black and yellow spider is that, at night they consume their web and construct a new one the next morning.
