A SHORT EVENING POST WITH JUST ONE BEETLE AND JUST ONE FLY

in Fascinating Insects3 years ago

The evening was fresh, but not too cold, so I encountered some insects while walking across the meadow, along the edge of the forest.

This small, hairy beetle, the Lagria hirta from the Tenebrionidae family ...

... was resting on the foliage of some small shrub. At one point ...

... the robber fly arrived, caught the beetle, and brought it to the nearby evergreen oak tree. This shot was taken on one of the lower branches of that tree.

And that's it. A short entry while I'm preparing a very long post about a boat trip that I did last week.
As always in these posts on HIVE, the photographs are my work.

I don't really know much about biology, but sometimes when I come across your post, I do learn one thing or the other. What I enjoy the most is the ability to create story from any picture — this is what intrigue me the most

Nice Write-up @borjan!

Thank you :)

Thanks too. Have a wonderful timeYou're welcome @borjan

Do you know what the fly will do to the beetle? Eat him? Will into slavery? Will they get married? What's happening?

:) Just eat it. It's a lion and zebra kind of relationship.

So many hairy things in nature if you look closely enough. Sometimes the predator becomes the prey.

Adorable click dude✌️👌

Wonderful capture ❣️
