Hello HIVE!
I found some interesting pictures in my archives
This caterpillar is also called Brown-tail moth.
Caterpillars are approximately 35 to 40 mm long, gray-black in color, with a white-red pattern and long hairs.
Caterpillars hibernate in groups in the winter nest.
They feed more often on deciduous trees such as oak, cherry, plum, apple and pear, this greatly harm farmers and gardeners. 🌳
The species prefers trees and shrubs in open landscape, as well as fruit trees in gardens. Often comes to a complete consumption of the green part of the plant!
Modern agriculture uses a range of chemical pesticides to control this pest.☣️
Euproctis chrysorrhoea is a species of butterflies from the subfamily of Lymantriinae.
The female lays approximately 200 eggs in a pile, then distributes hair from the back of her body for camouflage. Now the masonry looks like a wood sponge, and the birds will not immediately be able to detect it.
When searching for information about the caterpillar, I was surprised to find that: "Touching the caterpillar can cause a rash on the hands, possible scarring of the skin and breathing problems"
After the photo session, I did not find anything like this in my state of health. Perhaps it was worth licking droplets of liquid secretions from her back to feel it, but I do not recommend eating unfamiliar insects))😂
This caterpillar is reborn into such a beautiful moth...
