Very far!
I saw one ant wandering around the leaves I wanted to shoot and started to watch her. One leaf, then another. No other ants around and looked like she was lost.
She reached the tip of one and it was time to decided - jump or not.
A few glances down...
... and she changed her mind.
And all she needed is a nice, blue parachute! :)

It's the same with my ant and the eyes. I think I'll get macro extension tubes for the Sigma for more magnification. The eyes of an ant should be better visible then.

Won't Sigma lose auto focus then?
I will tell you that in a few days, but I don't think so, because the extension tubes I ordered are with autofocus ... I'll see if it works 😉
