These insects disturb harmony in nature.
Well, they need to eat like every animal.
Often we humans weaken ecosystems by single-crop farming, using pesticides, eliminate important predators which could restrict the proliferation of certain other species, causing the climate change.
Most of the time insects are only dangerous for the survival of their food plants if the natural balance isn't functioning anymore.
If these little beetles are disturbing harmony what are we doing then, while destroying rainforests, overfish the oceans, producing nuclear and plastic waste and polluting water and air?
And in general, what are these insects and what is their role for nature? Maybe someone knows?
The beetle belongs to the family of Chrysomelidae (leaf beetles) with about 50000 different species. According to your pictures it could be Agelastica alni (alder leaf beetle).
Thanks @jaki01 ! You told me so much about ecology. And I will definitely go to Wikipedia and read about this beetle. Now I know his name, thank you.
By the way, my mom @olga.maslievich said she knows you and she sends you greetings.
Nice to meet you here, greetings back to your mother! :)
