Phyciodes tharos / Pearl Crescent Butterfly

English

Hello dear hive bloggers and especially the insect lovers 😉.

I haven't posted in this group for quite a while...but I certainly enjoy the beautiful insect images that have been presented here from time to time.
Right now we are in Costa Rica and my daughter's keen eyes caught a beautiful butterfly on a leaf the day before yesterday as we were walking to the supermarket.

She immediately called out like this: "Mummy.... Mummy, look! A beautiful butterfly! Take a photo quickly! Later you can post it on your blog and you'll earn the money for your dinner!"

I really want to laugh to hear it. But I shouldn't, otherwise the butterfly will fly away 😝.

I'm not talking nonsense, my six year old daughter said so really 🙈😝.
She already understood well why her parents like to take photos so much, even when they are in the restaurant.
She also knows why we sit in front of the computer so much and play Splinterlands 😝.

Alright... I'm going to start giving you a bit of information about the butterfly in this picture.
I'm not 100% sure about the species because there are so many similar varieties of them.
My guess is: it is the Phyciodes tharos, which widely spreads in Central to North America. I am only clear of the genus, I'm sure that it is the Phyciodes.

They actually look very beautiful, don't they?
Costa Rica is a country that has done quite a lot when it comes to nature conservation. It is a good example for all other tropical countries that are very rich in diversity of animals and plants.
That's definitely a reason to consider it as a potential emigration destination for us 😉.

By the way, I couldn't take many pictures of the butterfly because a car suddenly drove past and it startled it. The butterfly flew away immediately.
Well...that's ok, We'll probably see more beautiful insects later and I'll definitely share them with you all 😘.

Thanks for your upvotes.
See you again soon!

She is clever and we know it 🙂 she is wise and like woman in general (suka duit🤭)

I Miss to see butterfly here. In my village is so hot weather now and I never saw butterfly

Hahahahaha....

Quote: and like woman in general (suka duit)

I have to laugh again just for this part...
You hit the nail!

😅 after marriage, (now a year) I know why woman really thinking about money, calculation for all the needs for the family 😀 and that's normal ehehe

Absolutely normal indeed. We're the Finance minister of the house afterall 😝

Awww, Costa Rica... My very favorite country in the world, my tropical love, my Pura Vida... Enjoy your time in this amazing place! :)

@tipu curate

Yes... It's beautiful, and rather clean. People are nice. But I'm soaked in sweat everytime we're going out 😝.
I'm glad to be able to eat many tropical fruits I've been missing.
Some exotic fruits are indeed available to buy in Eurepe despite the high price...but there are still many kinds that are not available to buy even if we agree to pay the price LOL.

I lived in Mexico and visited many countries in Latin America and I can tell you that Costa Rica was by far the cleanest one and also the one with the highest protection of the environment and their incredible natural beauty and biodiversity. Almost 1/3 of the country consists of national park and natural reserves.

As for the heat... I visited Costa Rica in September and it felt much colder and more refreshing there than the scorching Yucatan where we lived back then ;)

Yes, that's true. Today I had a small adventure with my little girl: trying out the public transport (local bus) to go to the next town with my rather poor spanish 🙈, and my phone battery was running out 😝. It's especially exciting cos we're now at the place which is not typical for tourism, so there is only one bus for every 3 hours 😝.
But along the way I could really confirm that Costa Rica is clean and so green everywhere.
The way how public transportation work remind me of my own home country:Indonesia, but how the people here take care of the beauty of their country.... There are so much for my fellow countrymen to learn 😊.
