Beautiful shots and no idea what it is.
What I do know is that it's colors warn the birds not to eat it.
A lovely post and a great poem Sir @johannpiber

I think it is the larvae of a Sawfly because I still haven't found anything else about it and I don't search any longer, but anyway, thank you that you like the photos, @papilloncharity 🙂
I wonder if all birds believe that this color means the worm tastes bad or is poisonous, because sometimes such colors only pretend that the insect tastes bad or is dangerous ;)
Cheers and !BEER
We just looked at a Sawfly catterpillar and it does look very similar, although the colors differ, as the ones we found are all more white.
Another mystery is that how can birds instinctively know that bright red and yellow is poison in insects, yet they eat bright yellow and red fruit?
You are right as many non poisonous insects masquerade with poisonous colors as their defense.
But there are birds like the Thrushes that can figure them out.
Just the ingenuity that is found in nature my friend.
I know what a pain it can be to search for an unknown insect Sir @johannpiber.
But at least you tried!
Blessings!
There are many different kinds of these Sawflies and many of their larvae look similar.
Insects move and fruits don't ;) lol - I have no idea 😉
It's good that some birds know that these insects are edible, otherwise they might become too many and a problem. That's how mother nature regulates it.
I have had harder searches, and at least I tried and I think I came very close to the correct name of it :)
Have a nice evening @papilloncharity 🙂

I also think that you are correct with your evaluation of the catterpillar Sir Johann.
And you are right to know that the circle of life for everything in nature is complete.
Such a pity that mankind is forever trying to destroy it.
But I leave you here on a lighthearted note and hope that you have a good evening my friend.
Blessings and thank you!
We think we are better, but we aren't - one day we all will know it, when mother earth tells us even more clearly than she is already doing it, but hopefully before it's really too late.
So, I think it's about time for my bed - I wish you a nice evening and a good night, my friend 🙂
Cheers and !BEER
You are so right and one day we will indeed all know it!
I forgot to ask if the buyer actually bought your son's bike? I hope he did.
Good night my friend, have a peaceful and restful sleep 🙂
Good morning @papilloncharity 🙂
Yes, the buyer did buy it for his son at almost the price we have expected. Tomorrow he will come with his son and take it home.
Have a good Friday and beginning of the weekend 🙂
