Grasshoppers are plant-eating / herbivorous insects and have antennae that are almost always shorter than their bodies. Female grasshoppers are generally bigger than male grasshoppers. These insects have wings but are sometimes not used, because some grasshoppers do not fly but jump. Grasshoppers reproduce by laying eggs (ovipar).
