76ers fall to Boston Thursday | Jazz in town tonight

After another loss on Thursday to the Celtics, the Sixers only have twenty more games remaining in their 2024-25 campaign. These final games feel like a formality at this point as the majority of Sixers fans are just ready for next year and are hoping for the best draft position possible. It's very depressing that it has come to this but, maybe it will work out in the end.

I've been a frequent visitor of Tankathon these past few months between my Titans and now the Sixers. The Sixers are in a trickier and much more suspenseful situation than the Titans were though.

In order for the Sixers to even have a first round draft pick in 2025, they would have to make sure they secure a top six pick in the NBA Draft, or else their pick goes to OKC. The Sixers are in a fairly ok position to get the sixth pick or better but it's still very much up in the air. The Sixers play the Raptors and Wizards two more times this season, two other teams not exactly looking to win many more times this year so that will be interesting. Even tonight, the Sixers are facing the 15-48 Utah Jazz. The Jazz are very much in the running for the top pick in the NBA Draft themselves. Should be intriguing to see how both these franchises handle the game...

So yeah, it's become sort of a sick, reversal, upside down type of season. A race to the bottom. A lot of scoreboard watching around the NBA, rooting for other teams to win LOL.

It hasn't been all bad for the Sixers in 2024-25. Jared McCain looks like a promising young talent, they managed to get a memorable win over the Celtics on Christmas Day, and now local legend Lonnie Walker IV has become a Sixer and has put together a few solid performances. Walker IV scored 17 on Thursday vs the Celtics. He is on contract next season still. Imagining if Lonnie won an NBA Championship for the Sixers after being from the area would be next level epicness. Will be nice to watch him get some more reps the rest of this season and be ready to contribute in autumn.

Yep, not much else to really talk about. The Sixers are just in no man's land, just sort of existing and hoping they get a draft pick LOL. I don't expect much on the court at this point. Will be interesting to see how tonight unfolds.
