The Sixers have looked bad even WITH Joel Embiid and Paul George in the lineup. Friday the Sixers just got outplayed by the Magic without Wendell Carter Jr. and Paolo Banchero.
Between the Titans and the Sixers it has been a rough 2024 autumn as a sports fan personally. Sheesh.
Instead of doom and gloom maybe I'll try to be positive. If the Sixers do start to figure things out, hopefully starting tonight, perhaps by Christmas they'll be hovering around or maybe even above .500. But at 2-10, this is not going to be easy.
Rookie Jared McCain continues to frankly be on pace for a pretty historic rookie season. He dropped 29 more points on Friday! Kid is a menace! He did foul out in the fourth which really hurt their chances down the stretch but still he is exciting to watch! I'm excited to see him face the Heat. He's such a young player at twenty years old, I wonder if he can get even BETTER.
Heat superstar and former Sixer Jimmy Butler is set to return tonight which does not help matters. Butler is a skilled tank of a player and doesn't mind beating his former teams. This is going to be an overall interesting opponent for the struggling Sixers. The Heat are always game, they're like the Jorge Masvidal of the NBA. The Sixers are going to have to play tough.
I'm ninety percent sure George is playing for the Sixers and Embiid is questionable with an illness so I guess he's 50/50 to play.
At this point the whole team needs to step up and just play hard, and whoever plays night in and night out, plays. Maxey will be back eventually, George and Embiid have played, kinda. Championship teams have to be well rounded throughout the whole roster. Maybe all this experience will be beneficial as the season progresses.
