Ahhhh yes. The UFC's final event of this year, is upon us! I'm going to keep this post fairly simple. It's Christmas time, and I plan to spend some quality time with my family the best I can!πŸŽ„

This final event from the UFC is not a total jaw dropper, but it is actually a pretty good card! The main event features two high level fighters that are pretty outspoken and that may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is pretty exciting and fun in my opinion!

Covington vs Buckley is the welterweight main event I am speaking of between two top ten fighters, and it's an intriguing style matchup for sure! Covington is a savage in wrestling and cardio, while Buckley is a muscled and explosive, powerful fighter. As I mentioned, both are incredibly outspoken so this should be a treat! Buckley is significantly younger and on a big hot streak, so I lean toward Buckley, but Covington is forever underestimated. All in all this is going to be epic!

The highly respected veteran Cub Swanson faces Billy Quarantillo in what looks to be a stand and bang featherweight treat for everyone! I hope Cub gets it done and I believe he is the more skilled fighter here. Cub is getting older, who knows when his last fight is going to be. I find it oddly sentimental that he fights on the last card of 2024.

Manel Kape and Bruno Silva fight in the men's flyweight division. The flyweight division is growing on me slowly. This fight should be great between ranked opponents. Kape is still a darkhorse to be a champion somewhat soon. A win tonight will help his cause. I favor him in that matchup.

Sean Woodson and his very uniquely massive frame is set to fight again tonight. I still feel like being 6'2" is just outrageous and unhealthy for the featherweight division, but he's been having success so what can I really say? He fights another very tall opponent in the 6'1" Fernando Padilla so at least there won't be such an eye opening difference in height or reach, which really intrigues me honestly.

There's some other moderately recognizable names sprinkled throughout this card. Names like Davey Grant, Miles Johns, Drakkar Klose, Michael Johnson, Adrian Yanez, and Dustin Jacoby are all well known, sort of journeyman fighters set to perform tonight. None are super duper high level I'd say, but they are very competent, watchable fighters.

All in all, this is a decent card! Should be fun. Merry Christmas folks, lets go!
