It's feeling like proper winter weather in my neck of the woods, as it probably should since today is the last day of autumn! Tomorrow winter begins and Christmas is RIGHT around the corner! Football and basketball going on all the while. Good times.
With all the solid vibes in the air a Sixers game only enhances the good times, in my opinion anyway LOL.
On Monday, things were feeling super gloomy around the team, in my opinion anyway. The Sixers have been injured all year long, and struggling for the most part. They have had a bit of momentum, but more injuries kept popping up.
BUT still, the Sixers managed to look excellent a few days ago. Stars like Maxey and George did some heavy lifting and the game felt pretty in control most of the time. Maxey scored 40, George scored 33, and even Kelly Oubre scored 19 which is a fantastic contribution considering that Maxey and George went off.
Also, despite Embiid's sinus fracture, Embiid has probably a sixty percent-ish chance to play tonight, likely with a mask on if he does play. Embiid showing his tough side which is nice to see.
So yeah, the Sixers won and looked good Monday, Embiid might play tonight and even if he doesn't it's pretty clear he won't be out long.
Maybe things will end up being ok for the Sixers in 2024/25. Not sure what the team's ceiling really is but they can still be at least a fairly competent playoff team. Just glad things are looking a bit up. What a rollercoaster season.
The Sixers keep beating the Hornets. It's like an infinite win glitch right now for the Sixers. A win tonight would mean a four game sweep of the Hornets this season and their tenth straight win over the franchise overall. Hope the Sixers realize the Hornets are probably going to try more than average to beat the Sixers this time, there's a very fair chance this is the Hornets' final chance to see them until next year.
This will be an interesting battle!
