There was an actual Joel Embiid sighting last night, unbelievable! He played for the first time in weeks and it was pretty nice to see. While I'm happy he played, I've got no clue when he'll be back for real. It's like seeing a double rainbow, or a unicorn at this point LOL. But it was nice seeing the guy play and he was excellent! He dropped a triple double and helped lead the squad to a victory after the team dropped two in a row so, it was pretty good timing as a whole and yeah, it helped the boys stay afloat in the Eastern Conference!
The Sixers also sent Caleb Martin to the Mavs and received Quentin Grimes in return so, things are happening in Sixers land. I'm pretty clueless about Quentin Grimes if I'm being honest so we'll see how it works out.
The Sixers face the Heat tonight in their second of back to backs so hopefully the Sixers respond in a big way. Embiid is not playing in a back to back but, hopefully him returning, trades happening (Sixers also sent K.J. Martin to Detroit) and the All-Star break approaching can motivate the Sixers to keep playing strong as a whole. Hopefully they'll finish winter and head into spring on a good note.
The Heat are in a weird position with Jimmy Butler in no man's land so it will be interesting to see what the vibe is like on both teams. Interesting times in the NBA, no doubt about it.
