The once indomitable FC Barcelona is declining in all ramifications of the pitch lately and there seem to be no sign of them recovering from this decline in sight. They seem lost despite still having the best player in the world in Lionel Messi, what would become of them when the Argentine eventually follows the exit door?
Based on current statistics and predictions, arch rivals Real Madrid appears to be the team that will be ruling Spain for the next decade with plans executed already to brew the team for the present and the future and that future preparations is something Barcelona once did but appear to have stopped at some point.
Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Messi, Pedro, Pique, Puyol, all these were youth products of Barcelona and with the right manger, they went on to dominate football for years. Currently, virtually all of these aforementioned players have left the team or aging and there seem to be no proper replacements in sight.
Against Valencia yesterday, Barcelona looked lost and terrible, amassing possession with little to no end product. Most of their best moves and attempts on the opponent’s post came from their talisman Lionel Messi which further cements my prediction of watching the worst Barcelona when the Argentine leaves or hangs his boot.
I might be wrong about my assertions of FC Barcelona and they may have background plans to take the world by storm at some point but it is what it is, “Background”, beyond my notice and I am asserting based on what I see and hear. Right now, I feel the only savior of Barcelona would be a turnaround or proper planning from their directing team and a top coach, the likes of Jurgen Klopp who would find the suitable players for the club or bring out the full potentials of the current ones.
