Before the start of the Premier League season, no one saw Jose Mourinho’s side (Tottenham Hotspur) side on top of the League standing going into the festive season. It has been a very good season for Spurs after defeating Manchester United 1-6 at Old Trafford.
Most would have thought their early-season win against United was a fluke, but they surprised everyone by putting up a formidable show by winning other title contenders, conceding less through the process. Defense has been the weakness of Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham, towards the end of last season and early this season, they conceded a lot of goals.
Their ability to tighten their defense has given them the edge over other teams, and also the current form of Harry Kane and Son with their ability to score and create goals in some cases out of nothing.
Liverpool's last league game against Fulham (away) showed a lot of lapses in the way Liverpool plays, their inability to defend due to the loss of Van Dijk to a long-term injury coupled with a dip in form of other key players. Mohammed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane are on their worst run of form, they have been unable to deliver, as usual, the team has been depending on new arrival Diogo Jota to convert chances created, he is not in contention for the game no thanks to injury.
Today’s game (Liverpool vs Tottenham) is going to be a difficult game and hard to predict because of Liverpool’s league form at home. Nonetheless, it's Tottenham's game to lose owing to their terrific form this season.
