@mrsbozz and I were driving home from work the other day when she mentioned that our niece had a softball scrimmage that night. It wasn't on our calendar, so it was kind of a welcome surprise. I was under the impression that her high school games wouldn't be streamed this year, but I received another surprise when I discovered at least this one would be.
I turned on my BeeLink device I have connected to our TV and once I was booted into Ubuntu Linux I launched WayDroid so we could stream the GameChanger app to the TV. It works fairly decent, but there are some minor issues. I don't know if the problem is with the device, the software, or our Internet connection, but about an hour into pretty much any stream with this app everything just closes down.
It always seems to happen just as our niece is coming up to bat too. Imagine that!
Our niece had a killer game on offense last night. She went three for three and pushed in some RBI's over the course of the game. Unfortunately, their coach is a bit of a moron. The team had a pretty decent lead built up when the coach decided to switch pitchers. After that things went downhill in a big way and at the end of the game, the Shamrocks found themselves on the crappy end of a loss.
I think the final score was 13 to 9 or something like that. If you look really closely at the photo above, you can see at one time the Shamrocks were up 6 to 1.
Collapses like this have been all too common for this team due to the coach making moronic decisions like this one. I know it was just a scrimmage, but I guarantee he is going to do trash like this in the regular season too.
Meanwhile, the Big Ten Basketball Tournament continues today at Noon with Michigan State taking on Oregon. Oregon secured a win over Indiana yesterday to earn their spot against the number 1 seed in the tournament today.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin beat Northwestern, Illinois crushed Iowa, and Purdue edged out USC. That means after the Michigan State/Oregon game we will see Wisconsin face UCLA, Illinois take on Maryland, and hopefully Purdue demolishes Michigan.
Don't hold me to this, but I am going to predict a Michigan State/Wisconsin match up on Saturday and a Maryland/Purdue game in the semi-finals. I think a Michigan State/Maryland rematch for the conference tournament would be pretty cool, but we will see.
Meanwhile, get your popcorn ready because Sunday evening is Selection Sunday. Monday morning I will be breaking down my bracket and letting you know who I have picked to win it all in the national tournament.
Be sure to check back!
