It seems like no matter what way you look this weekend, there is something big going on. This is the time of year when we take a step back in America to think about the things that we are thankful for. It's also a time when we stuff our faces full of really good food. Finally, it's a time when sports are quite abundant on TV. We already had three NFL games on Thanksgiving Day, and now this weekend we have college basketball going on and the final games of the NCAA football regular season.
I'm going to keep this post short thanks to the holiday weekend, that tryptophan is still coursing through my system and I can hardly keep my eyes open. If you decide to check out some NCAA football games this weekend, these are the ones that I think you should check out:
Georgia Tech versus (7) Georgia could be a good game, but I honestly expect Georgia to win that one. It really just depends on which Georgia team shows up. They've had some really great games this season and some less than stellar ones too.
(15) South Carolina versus (12) Clemson could be a good game as well. Both teams have a pretty similar record and it could be a good show.
Probably the biggest game of the day is Michigan versus (2) Ohio State. It's not a big game because anyone expects Michigan to win this year, but it is one of the biggest rivalries in college sports, so that always makes for some good viewing. If you watch nothing else on Saturday, you should at least make a little time for "The Game".
(6) Miami versus Syracuse has the pieces to be a good game, but I don't really know enough about either team to say if it will actually be that close.
Finally, the last two games I would point you in the direction of are (24) Kansas State versus (18) Iowa State, and (3) Texas at (20) Texas A&M. Don't let the rankings fool you, those numbers are determined by a panel of "experts". Anything goes when it is rivalry weekend.
Personally, I'll be watching Michigan State as well as they head to Rutgers to try and earn a spot in a post season bowl game. It's going to take a miracle I think.
