My poor streak continued in the European matches making a -0.4 unit loss pretty much on 2 main bets with higher odds which ended up as losers. With 4 more weeks to go in the regular season I will just keep grinding and see where it takes me with an option for me to just take a losing season and take a break during the playoffs. 8 more matches this weekend starting tonight with Mechelen against Stvv.
Kv Mechelen vs Snt-Truiden
Both these teams are not safe yet with Mechelen just 1 point clear of a playdown spot while Stvv is 7 points behind of a Playoff 2 spot. So if anything today, it's an absolute must-win situation today for the visitors while Mechelen if they could instantly would sign for a draw tonight. Both right now are not teams who should be quite safe in the midfield based on how they currently play. Mechelen is coming off 2 ok matches and it looks like once again they are an over home team and under away team. They really got unlucky in their last home match against Gent to end it with a 3-3 despite being up 3-1 in minute 82. They mainly have better offensive options now compared to weeks ago with Raman in form and Antonio and Storm back. Stvv last week pulled a 2-2 stunt at home against Club Brugge in a fun match where the class of Lamkel Zé and Lapoussin made them score at 200%. I do expect them to just play to win today even though knowing Mazzu this might come from an attitude of exploiting the counters. So I'm not sure at all that they will just go forward blindly. However, the fact that Mechelen remains a home over team along with the fact that Stvv has to win makes me cautious on the FT under. I did take a cautious 0.15 unit bet on
1H Under 1.25 @ 1.967 which feels worth the risk as I do see a scenario where Teams start out with the focus on not taking too much risk. I was also willing to take a 0.05 unit bet on
Stvv -0.25 @ 3.929 which feels a bit too high as the quality between teams should not be too big and the visitors have to win while a draw will do for the home team. Since Stvv will have to go forward and they didn't lose their corners matchup away in the last 2 games I also took a cautious 0.08 unit bet on
Stvv +2 Corners @ 1.746 with an eye to possibly take more depending on the scorline and match picture.
