Cercle Brugge vs Antwerp
Cercle Brugge Played a horrible match last week away while before they played an excellent match at home. Soit remains a team where form of the day is a thing and it's more likely to be good at home. They are still only 1 point clear from the Playdowns so the pressure is on which might have an influence. Overall, I do expect them to be the team going forward maybe after a long study round similar to the home match against Westerlo. That match after they got behind still ended in a 1-1 with a 8-1 in corners and 2.96-0.98xg. So in case they fall behind, it can be expected to be a match picture where they push Antwerp back. Antwerp is pretty safe in playoff 1 and has an ok but not spectacular form. Their main issue is that their defense is no longer what it used to be as they get a lot of xg against still. So it makes sense for Cercle to be the favorite and feels like a match there the winner is on Cercle but the value is on Antwerp. I do kind of like the over line but will wait it out as there might be a long study round. I also kind of like Antwerp Team total Over 1 as they do have scoring quality. For now I'm just cautiously waiting it out.
No Pre-Game Bets
AA Gent vs Club Brugge
AA Gent actually showed signs of improvement last week against Genk where they played an ok match and took a deserved 0-0 draw. However, today they are without 1st goalkeeper Roef who saved them a lot of points and Gandelman also is injured which in the past was one of their main scorers. Club Brugge lost last week at home against Standard in a match they always should have won. If anything, it showed that they tend to have a hard time breaking down a team who only aims to defend. I don't expect AA Gent to play the Standard style today so it should be a fun match with in the end likely Club Brugge as the team with much more quality taking the win. However, it remains an away match and the home stadium is sold out. I do still like Club Brugge as a 1st half team and took an initial 0.2 unit bet on
Club Brugge 1st Half -0.25 @ 1.956. I'm also leaning on the over but kind of want better odds on it. Brugge has an upcoming Champions League match and they might have their mind already on it while they rarely push when they take the lead. They are without Tzolis and Onyedika but have enough quality on the bench for this not to be an issue.
Sint-Truiden vs Kv Kortrijk
Stvv improved a lot when it came down to individual player quality but they weakened when it comes down to forming a real team as there is just too much individualism. They have not win in a while but also took 4 draws in their last 5 matches. This match against Kortrijk is a 6-points match between direct rivals as a win for the home team would mean they now have an 8 point gap which should be too big for Kortrijk to overcome. So Kortrijk kind of needs to win in order to still make a chance to stay in 1st league. They have a new coach and took a good draw last week against Cercle Brugge where they deserved more. In a way, a draw would not be the end of the world for Stvv and I do think they will go forward. I do think the odds on Kortrijk are a bit too high and took a 0.1 unit gamble on
Kortrijk +0 @ 4.099. I will also keep an eye out on the over as there is a potential for a collapse or a crazy match. Stvv in their last 4 matches had an average overall 3.83xg.
Union vs Dender
Union is eliminated in Europe, had a week rest and now can fully focus on the league with a home match against Dender who again got into the danger zone after giving a really good position away against direct rival OHL a couple weeks ago away. I do fully expect that Union will be the team going for it with high intensity and for Dender to wrawl back and lure on the counters. I do expect Union to win this match fairly straightforward and took initial 0.1 unit bets on
Union 1st Half -0.5 @ 1.930 and
Union -1.25 @ 1.943 with an eye on increasing this in-game. I'm also keeping an eye out on the Union 1st half corners and might take a small bet on that also. If Union is in the lead late especially if it's with 1 goal, it should make Dender take high risk and likely get punished on the counter.
