Certain games stand out for all sportsmen and they are not necessarily the great victories, but the stupid instances like getting injured. We had ambulances at matches yet when I required one I was turned away and had to leave the game to get stitched up. I presumed they were there to provide medical support and obviously a head wound was not on their to do list.

well I think the EMT's or paramedics are only qualified to treat certain things and can actually get in trouble for trying to treat anything greater than this unless it is a life or death situation. They didn't actually do the stitches on site for me but just put a bunch of gauze in my mouth. The stitches were done later. It was really strange having stitches put on the inside of my upper lip.
