well he failed badly in this match and that was a real shame. He didn't show us anything to make us believe that he still belongs in the championship picture and I believe he will quickly fade out of the UFC altogether.
A heel is just a bad guy and the term comes from WWE style wrestling. The guys who are intentionally mean to the crowd and rude/cheat etc.
