If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all” is a quote attributed to Walter Mosley.
Manchester City the Premier League team who have not had a win in their last seven matches s kind of unheard of considering their accomplishments in all competitions. Premier League Champions 6 times in the last 7 years built on dominating other teams through a stranglehold of controlling possession.
A Manchester City team losing their last 4 Premiership matches is not normal and one has to think it is only a matter of time before things return to normal. The saying you are as only as good as your last game is so true in sport and the harder you try the harder and more difficult finding a win becomes.
Many years ago my club rugby side went through a horrendous season and when you thought it could not get any worse it did. Eventually we were training every day of the week besides match days so this was not down to lack of effort and I would say it was more down to desperation and overthinking that was holding us back.
What Manchester City are experiencing can happen to any team no matter how good you are. The squad has not changed so the talent is still there and this is more a mind set issue s the team has been knocked out of kilter. Dominating other teams through possession has deserted them which has resulted in the team being down on confidence.
A team does not become bad overnight and it s a slow gradual process that deteriorates to the point that whatever the team does nothing works. The team is so used to winning that they have no clue how to get out of the rut and the only way is going back to basics simplifying the game so you dominate.
There is no magic wand that can fix this problem nd it is not down to coaching, but all down to the players raising their game. I am watching the game tonight between Manchester City and Nottingham Forrest and I have never seen so many individual mistakes by Manchester City. This type of game is a life line to fixing the team mentality and getting their season back on track.
Many pundits have already written them off, but that would be stupid being so early in the season. The City team is lying in 5th, 11 points off from the table leaders Liverpool which is basically only 4 games. I see City challenging for the title come April as tis side is just too good for this losing streak to continue. Once the small margins go in your favor the wins will appear and you will look back on how you lost so ,many games. This is a good kick in the pants that will make the team stronger and other teams should be concerned because they will all feel it when they click.

Twenty on the hop!! I remember that well.
My wife loved it, as she is a big Newcastle supporter, being a Geordie and all that.
