Titans-Ravens Week 1 Preseason Game Preview

2022-Tennessee-Titans-2.jpg

It's just the preseason, but man I am just pumped to watch the Titans suit up and compete! It's been a hell of a week or two, and I'm just glad I can have this as a reward basically.

It will be great to see Malik Willis, Treylon Burks and all of the rookies play. I'd also like to see some of the Titans running backs get some attention, some work in. I would love to see the team actually have a decent second running back to work with other than Derrick only.

The preseason is a solid test in my opinion for all rookies. It's absolutely a step up in competition from college, and the players playing are all basically having an audition for not only the team their currently on, but for other teams watching all across the league, and even other leagues. The preseason is not just a rookie showcase, seasoned vets are still trying to make money and lengthen their careers.

All in all, the preseason is a decent appetizer for the real season, and I believe three games is like the perfect amount of games. Four was kind of too long.

This may just be preseason but it also gives me a chance to take a look at other teams rosters. The league is not simply made of superstars, and every superstar ever had to see some action in the preseason first. It's cool to see how the Titans' back ups, stack up against other teams' backups.

The Titans and Ravens are pretty solid rivals as it is and the Ravens actually have a 20 game win streak in the preseason dating back to 2016!

This video covers the win streak from when it was 19.

So, it would be pretty sweet to see the Titans ruin the Ravens preseason streak, meaningless or not, that would be pretty sweet.

When I think of the Ravens, I really just think of one player if I'm being honest and that player is their superstar QB Lamar Jackson.

Other than Lamar though, I wonder how the Ravens are going to threaten teams for much longer. When Lamar is healthy and playing his best, he is perhaps the scariest single player in the league. But he did get injured last year and he does have some flaws. I just find it hard to believe that Lamar can make a long fifteen year career out of being a pure scrambler. Lamar can throw, but I just don't know how well and if his legs start to go on him, can he threaten teams from the pocket?

I think Lamar can probably do this for about four more seasons, he needs to develop like Steve McNair did in my opinion. If he hunkers down and becomes like McNair and Russ Wilson more, then I will be more convinced.

I will admit the Ravens have surrounded Lamar with a physical and gritty roster which I believe has helped Lamar succeed too. Last year was a mess, but this season if he and his running backs can stay healthy, the Ravens might be very scary yet again. The Ravens probably need some help at receiver too if I'm being honest.

Dang, the Titans will be facing the Ravens in Baltimore, not too far from myself. One day I will have enough money to do things on a whim LOL.

All in all, this is a good preseason test for the Titans. The Ravens have a good roster, and they have mobile quarterbacks. Just a solid test for the Titans and a good game for the Titans to see what type pf talent they have.

LET'S GO. Just preseason, but IT'S STILL TITANS FOOTBALL #TITANUP

Preseason wins do not equal Super Bowls. Being undefeated in the preseason is meaningless.
