After a win in the rain week 1 of the season spirits were sky-high in Chi-Town. The Bears did something not many expected them to do, beat the 49ers. A few TV personalities were even calling for the Bears to win the Divison. Fast forward to midseason - they've lost 3 of the last 4 and their sole win was only by 3 points against the worst team in the NFL, the Texans.
A loss tonight puts them at 2-5. Poised for an already high draft pick,
having a fire sale now and admitting mistakes could save alot of headache for them in the future
The Bears have a huge issue on hand. Their new head coach (Matt Eberflus) refuses to build his offense around the team he has, which is semi-understandable since he wasn't here to draft most them.I personally think its the coaches job to mold to the players he has on hand. But hey, some folks have egos.
The GM has to realize he only has two options. Fire the Coach, or double down. This is clearly not going to work out the direction is headed.
Since I doubt they fire him, I propose a fire sale if they lose tonight. I would even be willing to trade Justin Feilds for the right price. They could use that capital to draft Eberflus's type of player.
Though I doubt Justin gets traded, I do think they will start letting veterans go find trades. Watch out for Robert Quinn, I think there is a 70% chance he gets traded if they lose tonight.
But if it was me, im selling everyone if the Bears lose
Also in a weird way, letting veterans go find better teams that want to trade for them is high-key respectful. These players sacrifice their lives to a sport for our entertainment. Though they get paid millions, the toll on the body cant be measured in dollars, the least a bad team can do sometimes is let the old guy go out in style.
