Boxing Day 3 points nailed by Liverpool.

In a day like this where every football fan is ready to enjoy football games during Christmas holiday, today's set of fixtures and the results are ones that are filled with dazzling and dramatic turn of events.

As a Liverpool fan, I'm sure y'all already know that I'm happy about the loss Chelsea got in today's game. It was an afternoon fixture and they completely lost to Fulham. Manchester City also had an interesting result. They settled for a draw against Everton.

Since Manchester United and Tottenham are not really contending for EPL title anymore, it sure doesn't matter... However, just for the record, they both lost their game of the gameweek.

This all means that Liverpool really have to get a win against Leicester in their game in order to widen the point difference between them and Chelsea who are next in line in the EPL table.

Is this going to be a win or...? Haha. I was filled with a surge of anticipation.

First Half...

Liverpool didn't do themselves any favor in the early minutes of this game. We sure started really well with our ball control, presses, and chance creation. However, Leicester got their breakthrough moment in the 6th minute and scored from that.

Conceding that goal at that point in the game is where things get super exciting because I didn't at any point feel like Liverpool would be losing the game. It sure doesn't feel good to concede the first goal in a game. However, I would rather concede at that time than to concede the first goal of the game in the final minutes of the game.

Liverpool pressed for the rest of the first half like it's their final game of the season. They tried a bunch of attacking options... Long range shots, long range crosses into the opponent's cross, corner kicks, etc. It took until the ending minutes of this half for Liverpool to get an equalizer from a long range shot fired by Gackpo.

Second Half...

Liverpool kicked off the second half with a massive attack, and ruthless precision. It took only 4 minutes of the second half for Liverpool to score their second goal of the game. It was a goal that came from an assist that was nicely delivered by Macca. Jones picked that up and scored.

It took a while for the goal to be awarded due to a VAR check. To be honest, the time spent doing that check is quite frustrating. Liverpool scored another goal after that. This time around, the VAR check took way too long and the outcome was even more frustrating.

No goal, it is!

At the 76th minute, Slot did double substitution to take off Nunez and Jones. They were replaced with Jones and Szobo.

While you could say that Liverpool already have everything going in their favor, 1-goal lead is never a guaranteed win until you hear the final whistle. That's exactly why the 3rd Liverpool goal of the game which came at the 82nd minute is a perfect addition.

The goal came from Liverpool's Egyptian magician. That's 3 points in the bag for Liverpool. Now, all eyes will be on the next couple of games Liverpool would be playing.

Enjoy your holiday, folks.

I am enjoying this several run of wins by Liverpool, the Chelsea loss and their previous draw was quite satisfying especially with the new mantra "what is a title race" it was beginning to annoy me, lol😅
