Arsenal did Liverpool a favor by losing their game against West this weekend. This means Liverpool could widen their points advantage to 11 points if they win this game against Manchester City.

Liverpool fans are locked in on this one, looking forward to how the game will unfold.

First Half.

Liverpool had a good start to this game. They also got an early goal from a corner kick. Salah received the ball and scored to put Liverpool ahead. This early goal helped to calm the nerves of any Liverpool fan watching. It was a well timed goal

Manchester City also had their moments. They had a couple of attacking attempt, but nothing threatening got to Alisson. Our backline were blocking shots and defending really well.

It was a different defensive case for Trent though. Anyone that watches English football knows about the whole "Trent can't defend" agenda. Well, there are some truths to that which Liverpool also understands.

Trent became a target in this game. Doku of Manchester City had several attacking attempt from Trent's angle and he was successful for 90% of that attempt. It was wild to see Trent get cooked so many times in this game.

While Manchester City were pressing, Liverpool also tried to find a good time to return the favor. An opportunity came up and Liverpool didn't waste that opportunity. They got a goal from one of those, just before halftime.

The goal was created by Salah and scored by Szobo to give Liverpool two goals advantage. So, the first half of this game ended as a 0 - 2 win in favor of Liverpool.

Second Half.

The second half of this game was basically an opportunity for Liverpool to show how good they can be defensively. With two goals advantage, if they can stop Manchester City's attacks, they would surely pickup 3 points from this game.

That's exactly how this second half unfolded.

Liverpool defended as a unit. Our CB partnership of Van Dijk and Konate were impregnable. Nothing could get anywhere past them as they held Liverpool's backline tight. Trent was also struggling, but Szobo and Salah dropped back a couple of times to assist him at the back.

While Liverpool were doing their defensive duty, they also tried to switch to attack with any decent opportunity they got. Liverpool got an additional goal in the 56th minute, but the goal got cancelled after a VAR check.

Arne Slot did a couple of substitutions at key moments to keep Liverpool's squad balanced both attacking-wise and defensively. Endo impressed when he came on and he challenged for all tackles he could possibly get close to.

The game ended as a 0 - 2 win for Liverpool.

That counts as a good day at the office for Liverpool.

While Trent may not be the so good at defending, I know he can defend and I have seen him defend.
I am no coach but something tells me that his attacking outputs lead to him being told not to get involved in serious defensive works like tackling. So as to not get injured.
Take other fullbacks who are both productive in attack and defense as an example; James, Walker, Chilwell, etc. they always need to visit the hospital due to injuries.
Or maybe it's because I'm a die hard fan of Trent.

Well, we are at the top of the table. What a good time to be a Liverpool fan.

With the look of things, it is already looking like Liverpool will win the league this season

I was so happy at the win...

Lovely weekend for sure!
