Well in Nigeria they have Efe Ajagba who started playing soccer. He switched to boxing since 2011. But since 2017 professionally he has fought 15 fights and has won them all. Of them 12 by knockout. And of those Ko 8 they have been between the 1 and 3 rounds. His countryman promises this heavyweight. His right hand is a phenomenal face breaker.
I once read about about him but Nigerians are more focused on Isreal adesanya in UFC and Usman also.. I feel more Nigerians are coming up the rank in that sport.. many have ditched boxing due to the poor management they get from the sports ministry
But this point of support is essential. If the government does not support its athletes, I doubt very much that they will be able to advance, so they look for another way to develop in other areas such as the ones you propose in the UFC.
