I'm torn on whether to say the Chiefs played an amazing game of football or a terrible one, because in all honesty it was both. They played a stellar first half, an ok 3rd quarter, and completely fell apart in the 4th. That being said the veteran starters did not play the whole game and were out before the 4th quarter.

First Half
Quarter 1
Coming out the gate strong the Chiefs held the Vikings to a field goal, scoring 2 touchdowns themselves in the first quarter. During the first quarter we also got to see the high speed, high scoring offense we are accustomed to seeing from the chiefs starting offensive lineup. We got to see Mahomes performing impressively during this time with an 88.8% completion rate, completing 8/9 of his pass attempts for a total of 117 yards and the 2 touchdowns previously mentioned.

Quarter 2
In the second quarter the Chiefs still performed well, though not as well as the 1st. The defense held the Vikings to a 0 score quarter and Buechelle got his first touchdown of the night putting the score at 21-3 in the Chiefs favor going into half time.

Second Half
Quarter 3
This is where it all started to fall apart and was almost the beginning of the end for the Chiefs. The Chiefs traded touchdowns with the Vikings, allowing the Vikings to score their first touchdown of the game and Buechelle scoring the Chief's last.

Quarter 4
The Chiefs, for whatever reason, absolutely and entirely fell apart in the 4th quarter allowing the Vikings to score 15 points, two touchdowns and one field goal, with none of their own to answer for it. This brought the final score from an impressive 21-3 lead for the Chiefs at halftime, to barely maintaining their led to win the game with a final score of 28-25 for the Chiefs being undefeated in the preseason.

My thoughts
With Mahomes only playing 1 quarter we still haven't seen what the starters can do for a full game. However, with the impressive first quarter it appears that they are in sync and ready to go Sunday for their game with the Browns. I do have some concerns with the new O-line as they still allowed 3 sacks in this game. It doesn't matter if Mahomes can hit his receivers every time the ball leaves his hands if the O-line can't protect him to allow him to get it down the field. If the O-line can get their game together, the offense can keep firing on all cylinders like we saw last season and saw this game while they were all on the field, and if the team can stay healthy I think there is a very exciting season ahead of the Chiefs this year.
