RE: SPORTS TODAY 26th July- 1 HIVE + 200 SPORTS givewaway

In the football Olympics tournament, France struggled again, this time against South Africa. After trailing 3 times, they managed to tie the game 3 times and finally turned it around with a 4-3 win in the end. Hat trick from Andre Pierre Gignac.
In the other game for that group, Japan won 2-1 against Mexico.
So Japan is first in the group, while France and Mexico are tied at second rank.

Sort:

Oh no for France.
Congratulations to Japan. I hope they'll keep the winning streak

France won anyways, but they did struggle. I think they should be able to get out of the group stage, but after that, we'll see.
Yes, Japan is doing well so far, I have to try and catch one of their games.

what do you see about Spain, can they win the Olympics gold medal

I think Brazil is stronger this year, even though they tied 0-0 today with Ivory Coast. Spain next match against Argentina will be a good indication of their current form. And we'll have a much better idea once the quarter finals start.

This France team seem to have a hard time. Great they eventually turned the tie around emerged winners on this.

Who does France face next? Hope it's not Japan

Yes, it will be Japan next. The last matches of this group will be France-Japan and South Africa-Mexico. Anything can still happen in that group.

France will really be having a tough one on that one has the Japanese seem to be really impressive and clipping any team that crosses that way. One thing is sure for, it would a really exciting match. This might be the first football or event I will be seeing since the start of the Olympics

From what I've seen, Japan is winning, but they are not that impressive, they're okay. If France can use the momentum they got from the end against South Africa, I believe they should win it. At least, there's a lot at stake, so there should be a sense of urgency. We will see in a couple of days...

France need to win Japan in the next match to enter Quarter final. It will be a tough match as Japan is in high performance with 2 wins

In theory, a tie might be sufficient, there would still be a possibility to qualify as one of the best thirds. But yeah, a win would be much safer, and it's not going to be easy. I only saw a few minutes of Japan playing against Mexico, they were okay. I think they were a bit lucky to score these 2 goals so early in the match.

Just remember that Japan is playing on their home ground. Japan has a little advantage from it.

Of course, but does it really matter without fans in the stands? Maybe, I'm not sure. Like I just said above, I still believe France can win this one, and if Mexico also wins against South Africa, then all three teams will have 6 points.

Wow it seems like France was on the edge for most of the game. It does seem like there are quite a few goals each game and I don't think a team has gone scoreless yet.

Yes, for both women and men, the amount of goals is pretty high so far, plenty of matches with at least 4 goals. In Group C today, it wasn't that high though, with Argentina and Spain both winning only 1-0 against Egypt and Australia respectively.
