NBA Draft Lottery
The draft lottery is low-key one of the most franchise altering days on the NBA calendar. What would the Spurs be if they didn't win the lottery to draft Tim Duncan? What if LeBron didn't go to Cleveland because they didn't win the lottery? NBA fans will tune in tomorrow to see what draft pick their team gets. Let's get into the odds...
The Warriors, Cavs and T-Wolves all have a 14% chance to get the #1 pick of the draft. The Warriors basically took the season off with Klay and Steph hurt and ended up with the worst record in the league. I can totally see a scenario where the Warriors win the lottery and make the Finals...and that's just not fair lol.
The Atlanta Hawks are in the 4th spot with a 12.5% to win the top pick. This creates an interesting scenario of whether the Hawks draft hometown player Anthony Edwards from University of Georgia or the famous LaMelo Ball. I think if the Hawks win the lottery then they will go with Ant because Melo doesn't fit well with Trae Young.
The Detroit Pistons and NY Knicks have the next best odds, and it's clear what player each team will select if they win the pick. Both teams are looking for the franchise cornerstone and that is LaMelo Ball. Many believe Anthony Edwards will thrive as the #2 option on a team, whereas Melo can be the leader of a team on Day 1.
Rounding out the top 10 are the Bulls, Hornets and Wizards. Pretty much a toss up who these teams would select with the 1st pick, but it's unlikely this group will have a team that wins the lottery.
LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards seem to be the consensus top 2 (even if ESPN has Wiseman ranked #2..that's dumb), so they'll be glued to their seat to see which team wins the lottery.
Tune in tomorrow before the Lakers vs Blazers game to watch the lottery
