Last night the Richmond Tigers and the Geelong Cats took to the field in the last match for the year. It was a wet oval after a heavy deluge a few hours before the game soaked the area.
The game was close across the first three quarters with goals being exchanged. Eventually the Tigers kicked away at the end of the game and broke the Cats back, eventually winning by 31 points and hoisting the 2020 Grand Final Cup.
After relatively comfortable outings in the 2017 and 2019 Grand Finals, the Tigers were given an almighty scare, overcoming a 21-point first-half deficit to run out 12. 9. (81) to 7. 8. (50) winners in front of a crazy crowd at the Gabba.
