Today am not trying to differentiate between or debate on which league is better as we all know that the champions league is more prestigious and also has more hierarchy than the other league but, am actually directing my topic and my post towards TOTTENHAM FC & ARSENAL FC neither am I writing this to mock or make jest of any fan of the aforementioned club. Am here to only state the fact about the future of the two clubs next season on which UEFA leagues each club will be playing.

I know what happened yesterday night against Newcastle shocked everyone as no one would believe the shocking performance of Newcastle FC and the result of the match afterwards. Almost everyone thinks Arsenal would defeat their opponent outrightly due to their Head to Head (H2H) matches in which Arsenal had defeated Newcastle conveniently in their last four meetings back to back and with their position on the league table respectively, one could clearly predict who will eventually come out as the winner of the match..

These alone gives Arsenal all hope that they would again win the match as they've been doing, I think this is also one of those things that caused the defeat yesterday, over confidence... No one was expecting that huge loss, no one saw it coming but it came like a thief in the night. What a big shock.

Now with only one match left in the league when Arsenal will be playing Everton, Note: Everton had won 3 out of 4 matches in their previous H2H in the league. While, Tottenham will be playing Norwich. Note: Tottenham had won 3 out of 5, draw one, lose one in previous matches against Norwich, Norwich is also sitting at the bottom of the league and surely going to be relegated...

Tottenham having 68 points with 64 goal difference while Arsenal on the other hand has 66 points out with 56 goal difference, Tottenham only needs either a draw or a win to qualify for the champions league regardless if Arsenal win or not, on the other hand Arsenal needs a compulsory win and also wish Tottenham lose their match and nothing more against Norwich before they would qualify for champions league. Hmmm... If you ask me I'll say that's a very tight one.

Moreover, despite the easy fixture for Tottenham that doesn't justify who will qualify for the champions league. We never can tell as ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN BECAUSE IT'S FOTTBALL.

Anyways, this is my view.

Sort:

a pity the defeat of arsenal, I would have liked them to qualify for the Champions League, totally agree in my opinion Arsenal entered with overconfidence and paid dearly for the mistake, but it is not definitive yet, let's wait for the last matchday to see what happens.

Yeah, I would also prefer Arsenal in champions league compared to Tottenham. They could have qualified without stress but now they are only hoping for a miracle.
