and someone as connected to the UFC as well as MMA in general would probably know. I was listening to his podcast the other day and I don't remember who he was talking to, some bodybuilder that knows a lot about PED's, but the topic of Conor McGregor came up and Joe Rogan said very quickly and a bit quietly that he doesn't believe that McGregor will ever do another UFC fight.

It isn't just Joe that feels this way and there are loads of articles out there speculating about how it really isn't in his best interest to be in the public eye for a while because of his recent sexual-assault case that so it is rumored, is about to lead to a lot more of such sort of trials.
I don't think that anyone was ever going to accuse the "Notorious One" of being a saint, and he didn't really give us any reason to think that he was wholesome with all of his antics outside of the octagon. While the media and Conor's PR team are kind of doing a good job of burying the sexual assault case, it will always be looming over him and now the guy that was once the best thing for the industry kind of isn't. People would still turn up in droves to see him if he were to fight again but the problem isn't that, the problem is all the scrutiny that the UFC would face if they were to host such an event. Whether he is guilty or not isn't really the issue here: In the "court of public opinion" he is guilty already, and appealing the case and getting it overturned isn't going to really matter a great deal.
People may have noticed that this man who once didn't seem to be capable of keeping his mouth shut ever is all of a sudden gone very dark on social media and this is probably at the advisement of his PR team.
Joe didn't want to talk about the court case, soon to be cases though. I think Joe is very smart to steer clear of that. Instead Joe said that he doesn't think Conor can get into the shape that he used to be in during his prime because Hollywood and drugs have gotten the best of him.

If you haven't seen the Roadhouse interview that Jake and Conor did where Conor is clearly high I suggest you get out there and find it. I don't know a great deal about cocaine but I have done it a couple of times and one of the tells is that you can't seem to stop mouth movement. It is called "tweaking" or "jawwing" and I experienced as well the few times I have been on that stuff. Conor, in this interview seems to be coked out of his mind. I watched Roadhouse too, unfortunately, and the way he acts in this film it wouldn't surprise me if he was on coke the entire time in that as well.

Joe Rogan speculated that Conor seems to be on drugs basically all the time now and for most MMA people, this is a tough streak to break out of. Jon Jones had a similar issue but it was only because of a lot of dedication on Jones' part that he was able to break free and return to form in the sport. Rogan believes that Conor enjoys the party life a lot more than he enjoys MMA and also stated the obvious that he has more than enough money to live many lifetimes and doesn't actually need to fight anymore.
I would like to see Conor come back from this and return to form but he is older now and the level of training that would be required for him to return to form might not be possible anymore. He has essentially taken the past few years off and getting involved in films wasn't a great move for him professionally either. There were other projects that were offered to him after Roadhouse but ever since his sexual-assault trial, those offers have been cancelled.
I don't know the specifics of it, but it is my understanding that all or at least almost all of his endorsement deals have been rescinded as well.
I think it would be in Conor's best interest to not come back to the sport unless he is fully intending to properly return to form in some sort of redemption tour of sorts. Unless he can completely get off the party life and get back in the gym and devote his life to MMA, his return to the octagon can only make things worse for him. Also, going to other minor promotions will seem like an act of desperation and he is too small to take on Jake Paul in boxing.

I don't really see any way forward for the guy aside from going "all in" on training and getting back into MMA and honestly, with the amount of money that this guy already has amassed there really isn't any reason other than pride to even bother. He made the UFC a ton of money and propelled himself into superstardom at the same time but ultimately this all lead to his rather rapid downfall. Perhaps Irish Icarus flew way too close to the sun.
I agree with Joe Rogan on this but I would love to see Conor prove everyone wrong. What do you think?
No he cannot return as he is just a total disappointment and would not be the same. The only reason he would come back is if he ran out of money otherwise he has no other reason to return.
unless he has been wildly, Mike-Tyson-levels of irresponsible with his money he is not ever going to come back for that reason. He made enough in the one fight with Floyd Mayweather to live a live of frivolity and provide for many others should he choose to do so.
