Saurav Ganguly, currently President of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) took to the social media platform with caption "Let's get this ball rolling" and informed his fan and follower about the upcoming biopic on his illustratious cricket career, which will be produced by Luv Films
After already watching life of Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni on big screen, Saurav Ganguly is the new entrant of new generation ex-cricketer whose biopic would be produced.
Biopic is generally a term use for a film dramatizing the life of a particular person, typically a public or historical figure.
Saurav Ganguly, fondly called Dada in the cricketing circle, is one of the most successful skippers in the history of Indian cricket. He is also considered to be the one who brought transformation in the Indian cricket. Post his retirement currently serves as President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Saurav Ganguly, is a classy left handed batsman, and right arm slow medium bowler. He an astute leader who goes by his gut feeling and a charismatic personality on sports fraternity.
Sourav Ganguly is one of India's most successful captains as well. He played his first Test in 1996, scoring a century against England at Lord's on debut, and followed it up with another century in the next Test. He soon became a mainstay in the Indian batting order. Ganguly is credited with grooming new talent, with the likes of Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif and Harbhajan Singh, among others, shining under his leadership. He built a new team which won during many foreign tours. He took the team to new heights.
Ganguly captained India to the famous 2-1 Test series win against Australia in 2001 and then led India to a drawn series Down Under. He also took India to the 2003 World Cup final, but they lost out on the title to Australia. It's hard to forget the Natwest Series final in England. When India won, Ganguly took his shirt off and waved it in the famous Lord's balcony.
It remains as one of the most memorable incidents in the history of cricket. Earlier, English star all-rounder Andrew Flintoff had celebrated in the way during a series-decider at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Saurav Ganguly without even saying a single word, gave an apt response to England Andrew Flintof.
Geoffrey Boycott then started calling him the 'Prince of Calcutta'. His contemporary player and friend Rahul Dravid gave him the title of 'God of off-side'. All because for his elegant plays through the off-side. There was an ease with which he plays and pierce the fields to race the balls to boundary.
Ganguly called time on his career in 2008 after playing his last Test against Australia in Nagpur.
Saurav Ganguly Era is considered to be the transforming phase. The team started to huddle and are ready to fight, rather than easily giving up. Such an illustratious career and now a Biopic to put the life I to big screen. It going to be very interesting g and for sure all fans would be eagerly waiting for it, so does me.
