Aston Villa, Wolverhampton, West Ham United, and Leicester City all have projects that are having them inch closer toward the top of the league.
Great point. Imagine if Villa still had Grealish. Jacob Ramsey is the next phenom now. Big ups to the Aston Villa youth academy which is why I think they're the next in line to crack the top 6.
Brentford are worth a mention. I like what owner Matthew Benham did, turning the side from the brink of bankruptcy into the EPL by buying players using algorithms, statistics and data.
Newcastle also a mention, purely based on the fact that they'll buy whoever they can get their hands on.
Brentford's project seems like it will take longer than the rest. The four I mentioned seem to be inching much closer.
Newcastle is a complicated one, when City or Chelsea were purchased the PL had barely a top 4, now it is closer to a top 8. Their purchase might accelerate the process, but at this moment their project isn't even as good as Brentford's, who I see closer to the top than Newcastle as a project even with Newcastle's money.
That is a good point. Chelsea and Man City were pioneers of the 'money model' whereas it's a bit of a different landscape.
Brentford may take longer you're right. They do have a bit more money to play around with now so there baseline of available player now goes up too. A hidden $5m gem could be the next Messi, whereas the hidden $500k gem might be the next Vardy
