The Bera Milán reached 3,000 kilometers, and that meant only one thing: it was time for preventive maintenance! Today I want to share with you, the Hive Motors community, how the process went and some details that may be useful for those who have a similar bike.
It's been a few months since I first posted in this community, when I did the oil change at 1,000 km. Now I'm back with new updates on its maintenance, because if there is something I have learned in this time, is that a good care ensures that our machine works at 100% and accompanies us for many more miles without problems.

After 7 months of use, the bike is still in excellent condition. I always do its periodic revisions to make sure that everything is in order. As usual, I took the bike to my trusted workshop, where I not only get to see the whole process, but also the mechanic takes the time to explain every detail to me. This way, not only do I make sure that my bike is in the best hands, but I also learn more about how it works.
For this maintenance, I did a lot of research because I wanted to change the type of oil. Until now I had been using mineral oil, but many people recommended switching to a semi-synthetic oil, which offers better protection and greater durability, especially for motorcycles that are used frequently.

Finally, I decided to try Ipone, a lubricant manufactured in France by one of the most recognized brands in the motorcycle world. Before making the switch, I consulted with my mechanic to make sure there would be no problems with the transition. He explained that it was possible, but that the previous oil had to be thoroughly flushed out to avoid residue and to ensure optimum performance. With his approval, I bought the oil and we proceeded with the change.

One thing I really enjoy about this shop is that there are always interesting bikes being serviced, many of them owned by the same mechanic. They are old models, but incredibly well cared for, which reflects the true passion they have for the world of two wheels.

To top it all off, the bike received a good bath, leaving it impeccable and ready to continue riding. Now, the next maintenance will be at 4,500 km, where I will surely review other details to continue keeping it in its best version.

The hard thing about these 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines is the maintenance is very continuous, every 1000 or 1500 km, good that you have been careful with that, this way the engine will last much longer.
At the dealer I was told that oil changes should be done every 500 km, however my mechanic recommended every 1000 km due to the fact that I am using a high quality oil and also the fact that I don't use the bike that much, it resists a little more. But I am always very aware of its constant preventive maintenance.
Welcome to the community. And the good thing is that you already know what to do, now to take more care of that motorcycle and make your checkups and oil changes, whenever necessary, according to the times.
Thank you very much for the welcome dear friend. I am happy to share here the adventures with my bike. Yes, I am very careful with it because it is a big investment and I have to take good care of it. Thanks for your comment.
