Hello everybody, for our next number in the garage this week is the first bike that came in the garage at it's opening, the 2004 V-strom 650. It's spring time so the owner needs his bike ready and sharp as a pocket knife.
Since it has been a year engine oil needs to be replaced and add an oil enhancement becuase it burns around 200ml every oil change, generally engine oil must be raplaced in any machine once in a year if the machine has not reached it service hours or kilometers(miles), thats because the engine oil starts to lose it's properties every time it get's hot and cold.
Ricently i was reading about maintaince on my V-strom 650 xt service manual and i found out that you have to lubricate some points after every 1000km or earlier if you ride your bike in rainy conditions.Side-stand pivot and spring hook,gearshift lever pivot,footrest pivot,brake pedal pivot,pillion footrest pivot need grease so they work properly and prevent friction,the brake lever though need some silicone grease and your drive chain,as we all know, needs some chain lub.So i diceded to take the initiative and lub everthing up.
I thought that no one would have ever done that since it came out in production and my thoughts fell inside, it was all dry as if someone had rinsed them, the only thing left was this blackness that remains after years of harvest and some rust.Now everything is working as new.This week i also received some new stickers and as the first client V-stroms owner is the first one to have the honor to get one sticked up on his bike.
