Hello, Pilots!
I'd like to welcome @spryquasar to EXODE! I hope that you enjoy your time here.
There has been a bunch of significant updates this week, and @elindos has released 3 blog posts which I will link here with a short description of each. I will also give brief explanations in the News section, but I highly recommend that you go read the posts yourself, especially #2.
Post #1, describes planets, their features and seasons.
Post #2, describes starships, their modules, and how to repair them.
Post #3, describes how the gameplay phases work and what to expect from each of them.
π°News:
Faction Power has finally been released! My strongest faction is Rekatron, while my weakest (that has a significant amount of cards available in Alpha) is Scientific, so I'm glad @proto26 is the π [MELN] Scientist!
We have been given the exact specifications of how planets are generated, those being that they have 2-5 regions, each region has unique traits, regions have sectors with their own traits, regions can have special seasons, planets have 40-80 sectors.
Here is a table of each known planet type and their modifiers:
Seems like Terrestrial is the most balanced planet type right now. My Alpha Planet is Oceanic which is ironic since I brought a mining deck to it.
We've finally got some more information on Ship Modules and how to repair them, and just like everything in EXODE, it seems extremely complicated at first glance. This is the first major step towards a player economy, and I highly recommend you go read Post #2 in order to learn how this will work.
Here is an example of a ship module and what it needs to be repaired:
There have been miscellaneous bugfixes related to Faction Power and certain cards.
πGiveaway:
This week, you have a chance of winning:
This is one of- if not the - most important card in the Tom Settler contract. Despite being "only a common", the Strategic FOODIE-MOODIE will be invaluable at creating food for your colony. We have yet to know what "Happy Soda" does, but I assume it improves morale due to the name. Your colonists need food, and this card provides it, what else is there to say?
and
1x WHC Unit
This card is one of the most important in the entire game. Every crew needs Life Support, no matter what, and this provides this. It only has 25 days of life when un-upgraded, so you will need to find/create/bring extra Oxygen Crystals ASAP. Not to mention Water. This card is nigh-required in a deck, I had to bring multiple, and that was for my tiny crew. Imagine a Cruise Ship Captain Columbus.

EXODE is a real-time strategy space colonization game here on the Hive Blockchain. If you still have not bought your starter pack and signed up, use this Referral Code(c956af8) and you'll also receive 2 free Alpha Booster Packs with 5 NFT cards each and a free Epic Alpha Character. For more information and links, check out the developer's page, @elindos and this post by @proto26.
Alvex is a Jungle world with Swarms.
Seems like it may be ok for my scientific group, but I only had the starter cards when I launched. In preparation for Colonization I have 52 Planet Points and 40 Colony Points and 22 food, I wonder where I should focus while I wait on the next stage of Colonization to begin, it is not clear to me what will be carried over and what will be lost in the transition. It seems unlikely my team will survive long once things are all active with only basic cards, will future missions make it back to the same planet or will it be complete restart at every launch?
Is it normal that the points stay at 0 on this screen?

Do not worry! For testing, things are significantly easier and none of your characters can die yet. You can build improvised shelters, tools, and other things out of materials on your planet. Keep participating in giveaways and you will likely gain other cards to help you out as well!

the crafting of things comes in later Alpha or Beta and are not released yet correct? Or am I missing playable parts of the game? All I do right now is daily activities, is there more for now?

Will have to catch them first and toss them into the preservation dome.
Leave the science to me, friend!
Wow, such Rekatron power you have
Morale is different from happiness I think.
!PIZZA
I do have a lot of weapons. I will be sure to defend my production at all costs.
You are right, Morale and Happiness are different which I didn't know until Post #35.

Thank you!
Btw reading other comments made me realise that its hard everywhere π€£
No goals for my planet. Just going around exploring and trying out new ways to die and I'll restart again π.
Lucky for you I don't think that you can die just yet!

My planet is Oceanic, as well! I brought with me all the cards I owned at that moment, so no fun facts here :D
I think the fun fact is that although it is an oceanic planet, also the air and animals living there are dangerous / killing my colonists. I dream of some kind of "castle in the water", bravely facing all odds ;)
A man-made island of some sort would be an awesome Beta card @elindos, lol. Or even being able to dig a moat around you colony like a medieval castle. Pretty effective for land-creatures.

When I first signed up for Exode, I played enough to get my planet and then put it on the back burner for a while. I revisited it today, and seems lots has changed. Which is good, progress is good. So, I don't really know my my jungle world with swamps and deadlands is interesting or not. I need more time to figure it out before I have a clue. This goes double for plans.
Maybe I am late to the party, but at least I brought pizza!
!PIZZA
Makes sense! You don't need to know everything right now, that's what testing is for!

My planet is Oceanic, as well!
@listik303
One of my favorites for sure.

Fun facts about my planet
Welcome to Zombieland
My plan for my colony is to create the first theme park where you can experience in your own skin what is like to become a zombie.
*Biohazard Filters sold separetly for those looking for a milder, less irritating experience.
Haha, fun idea. I wonder if something like that could be done. Really all up to @elindos I suppose. A tourist-trap set of buildings could be fun, but I don't know if it would really fit the game's "Humanity is screwed" theme. Although, I'm sure there would be rich elites unaffected.

My planet has Hordes of creatures called Pealoxi that can eat anything that is organic...
