It's the start of another week again! (well, it's about a day delayed - due to real life cropping up π, but I think we can still consider it the starting of the week?)
This is now the 19th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks my 19th weekly giveaway! ππ₯³π
The End of Season Madness (as I like to call it) will be upon us in about a day's time. How's everyone doing with your climb up the leagues and your procurement of collection power? I hope it'll all goes well for everyone out there. β¨ππ»β¨
Personally, I'm hoping that I'll be able to rent enough power to hit Gold 2 or 1, but that is dependent on whether I'll have enough time and energy to manually camp and snipe up good deals on the rental markets π.
But of course, the main prize that everyone is aiming for is the chance for that mythical Gold Foil Legendary in one of the reward chests (which is about 0.008% π€£ - yes it's that low!). The best of luck to everyone. I've not had the luck to get a Gold Foil Legendary from any chests or packs so far since I started the game. Here's hoping that I finally get lucky too! π€π»ππ€π»ππ€π»π
But enough about my End of Season wishes π. No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. π°π°π°
πΈπ°πBIG CHANGES TO REWARDSπΈπ°π
This has got to be the most impactive news for Splinterlands in the past week! π±π€―
The Devs have announced more tweaks again to the rewards system, which will affect every single player! π±π€―
Of course I do not yet have an opinion in whether that will be good or bad. I can only wait till it has been implemented and more concrete details are released before I can properly assess it.
Here's what I can say about it though. The plans to encourage more card ownership among players is a positive in my opinion. That will create more demand for cards and thus increase everybody's assets value. πππ
Having a penalty for using Starter cards provided is questionable though. After all, anyone using all starter cards is already at a huge disadvantage to more experienced players with fleshed out decks. It might turn away the onboarding of new players to the game who see their already dismal DEC rewards from winning a match reduced even further. πΈπ€·π»ββοΈπ€
I do like the change to reward higher league tiers with more loot though. This might go somewhat towards combating the infamous horde of bots in the lower leagues. And it might reduce the utter disappointment upon opening up "yet another lousy chest" for those players who have invested so much into playing at the higher levels. βπ€
More talk about adding more Reward cards too! ππ± And they will come with new abilities that are from the Riftwatchers expansion. That will be most interesting indeed and should spice up the monotony of seeing the usual cards in rewards chests. β¨ππ»β¨
And now, for an update on the number of Chaos Legion packs sold thus far. About 77k sold since last week. Still not too bad. That is still quite an amazing sales figure! It is slightly lower than usual, but that is probably because of the increased sales figures last week upon reaching the 8 million mark for the Carnage Titan airdrop. Lots of people probably blew past their weekly budget on last week's purchases and we're seeing a correction now. π
Here's the current count (as of the moment I'm writing this post) of the number of packs sold, and we're 996k away from the 9 million mark! π Which also means everyone has a chance to get in now and grab more packs for the remaining airdrops! π
My fingers are crossed! π€π»π€π»π€π» Hopefully I'll get some amazing luck for the next round! πππ
