Flash Notice: Surprise Public Entry
This is merely a quick flash notice. You can join the tournament here
The password is Bish1UPT1 and the entrants that do well in this tournament will progress into the final rounds. It happens today at 9pm GMT
This entry is now open due to many of you not completing the steps in the previous post. The alternative was a very low tournament population. the tier 2 placement bracket (those who podiumed in the previous tournaments or had a very high win ratio in this season of tournaments) will not be opened in this manner. Only those who podium here will receive prizes, but there will be tips in discord for engagement.
Hot Slices, Engage!
Any comment about Chess, PIZZA, 1UP, or these tournaments will be tipped a hot slice of za. Delicious. Hope to see you all there. It should be fun.
Somehow I didn´t get this. This is now part of the finals, as the title suggests, or a qualification for the finals?
"the tier 2 placement bracket (...) will not be opened in this manner. Will be not opened to what?
What is Tier 1 and 2?
T1 was an arranged group bracket of those who placed in top 10 but were of an ELO less than 2000. T2 were those who placed top 10, had an elo above 2000, or had an excessive win ratio displayed WITHIN the tournaments (ie a new account from a pro etc). I had a qualifier be DM me your hive address in lichess due to many people either joining from discord or hive and not having their lichess match their wallet address. Overall few people DMed me who did not already qualify for T2 to the point where NO ONE DMED ME to get the passcode for T1. I didn't think that a step that simple would've complicated it for so many people. I sincerely apologize if this has been confusing. You placed in T2 due to podiuming and having a high win ratio and a higher than 2000 elo. However I wanted EVERYONE to DM me to
I made it open because it would be super pathetic to stream a game no one showed up to. Especially due to the fact no one read a 2 paragraph post that just tells the user to dm me on lichess for the passcode and to verify their hive wallet. No one that played and had a below 2000 elo or non excessive win ratio completed that step. I do not know each lichess users hive addy or I would've just @ed all of them from the start. Many people entered the tournaments when they were open and didn't comment or leave their hive addresses (even when instructed to do so to get prizes).
I wanted to divide the finals into two groups, so that way the skilled players play each other and the more novice bracket also has a shot at prizes. But only people who already qualified for T2 dmed me. No T1 finalists read the post or DMed me to receive the passcode. I did cross post to the chess community aswell. I am thinking in the future I will just do the basic tournament format round by round for prizes instead of trying to manually bracket finals. Also I believe a user made a separate account JUST to enter the finals after they were open to the public to try and take from both brackets. Keep in mind it only went public because NO ONE DMed me. Despite me prodding people in discord etc.
This was just an attempt to finish up the finals that were supposed to be composed of any finalists (top 10) from any of the Bish1UP tournaments this season but only a slim number have dmed me to confirm hive wallets and get their tournament passcode. I did this to give newer players a shot in the first tournament, if I made the password public like I did I knew it would draw every chess monster around. I am giving up on arranging tournaments like this in the future and will just run bi-weekly tournaments with same day prize payouts. The idea of finalists and a finals bracket was a fun idea but requires too much user response. I just wanted to try something cool and give all levels of chess player something for their time. I am likely to rehost the finals or at least this bracket. The only positive thing this has revealed is who is trying to run multiple accounts to spoof rewards from both pools, and who to disqualifier from future entry.
but you didn't register in my tournaments either. The problem is that it is difficult for biorobots to deviate from rituals))
Now I start to understand. You have chosen a quite complicated way with passwords, DMing etc. People don´t read anymore :(
Would also have been better, if the explanation would have been a bit more detailed and e.g. the people called out by name who are already qualified or suitable for a certain tournament - and who are not. People in the wrong tournament would then just get disqualified/not counted.
I would use the Lichess possibility of restriction of players to e.g. <2000 rating. At least that´s easy to implement, but of course not that specific.
I appreciate your time and chess prowess. Thanks for coming by and even gracing any of these tournaments. This one has been like herding cats and I personally would like to apologize for the issues this attempt at a finals bracket has had. Have some !PIZZA
Dear @cryptoniusraptor, You really should stop making the access to your tournament so complicated. Betman thought that the point should be to attract as much people as possible. Make a tournament a festive…
This is the finals for those who placed top 10 in the qualifiers. The only thing needed to enter was DM me on lichess as mentioned in the post weeks ago. This is the final rounds of the Bish1UP tournament. I posted a few times ANYONE WHO PLACED TOP 10 IN ANY OF THESE TOURNAMENTS ON LICHESS QUALIFY DM ME ON LICHESS WITH YOU HIVE ADRESS FOR ENTRY CODE. Many did not do this despite it not being a very complicated step, thusly I couldn't @everyone. These are finals that were supposed to involve people who already participated in the last 3 of these tournaments there just was a bit of a delay between then and now. All tournaments in the future will merely be fully open and there will be no attempts at a finals bracket in the future. Don't worry, I realize this wasn't accessible that was due to it being a finals bracket. There will be a new series of tournaments this coming week I am just getting the prize pool together and making some graphics etc.

In a recent tournament I finished quite low! I could get badly beaten by the top10!
