When Pokémon GO started to be a thing, I was so hyped about it. As a 6 years old child collecting Pokémon Tazos, I didn’t even think about having a game one day I can play everywhere, catch Pokémons all around the world, fight them, and collect them all as the slogan says.
After a huge rush of the new Pokémon mania, we slowly forgot our inner child and today we don’t give f*ck about this amazing game, which let us relive our sweet childhood moments over and over, real-time in the real world - or in the augmented reality (AR) at least.
The app was hiding on my phone, long ago I didn’t even open it to check out my virtual little fellas, but as nostalgia hit me again, I opened the app and caught a few Pokemons again.
GOTCHA!
To show my respect for the game and the whole Pokémon community, I decided to tribute a post about the game, show you my rarest Pokemons and some of my adventures I had in-game nowadays.
First of all, I am pretty obsessed with shiny Pokémons. I love how random is the way you can find them, I think it really gives some more excitement to the game.
These are my shiny catches so far:
As you can see, I have multiple shiny Vaporeons, a Flareon and a Jolteon, these are all evolved from shiny Eevees I caught on an Eevee-specific event. I think these were pretty lucky catches if we consider the fact that a shiny Eevee sells for 25$ on Ebay right now.
(There are 98 sold from the one I checked, so people actually buy them…)
I don’t even want to think about the fact people actually make a living of this good old game, but I think it is still an interesting fact that you can even sell your Pokémons if you want to. It is almost like NFT-s without the whole blockchain-thing.
The other thing I want to share which is kind of a new feature for me. There are rare and strong Pokémons you can only catch by participating in Raid battles. These raid battles can be fought by a group of Pokémon trainers or alone, most of the time these are pretty strong ones so you need a horde of your strongest Pokémons to stand a chance.
After winning a raid battle, you can start to encounter the Pokémon you were fighting against, so you have a chance to put your hands on the rare stuff, which is pretty cool.
Back than this was only possible by phisically move to the place where the raid battle is happening, but now every day you can have a remote raid pass to be able to participate in a nearby raid battle even if your not phisically there.
This is one of the raid bosses I caught last time:
