The cost of entry for this game is something like 2.5K and the community is toxic af from my experience. Not really my cup of tea.

Understandable. I haven't seen much toxicity, especially from a gaming community but I am sure some exists. That can be said about every community though.
Yes the barrier to entry is high, like a lot of popular NFT P2E games . Rentals/ leasing will make a huge difference. This way anyone can earn if they put the work in.
