Social Media Challenge || Options for BROKEN ARROWS Ruleset

in 1UP2 months ago

Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

OPTIONS for BROKEN ARROWS Ruleset

BROKEN ARROWS is a ruleset that prohibits using Ranged monsters (as well as dual-attack monsters where one of the Attack types is Ranged Attack). You can't use ranged monsters; only melee and magic monsters can be used in this ruleset.

If you are a cautious player, you can rely on the MAGIC REFLECT and or THORNS abilities to at least deal damage to the opponent attacking our monster. And the AMPLIFY ability is useful for amplifying the effect of that damage.

In this battle, I will rely on several abilities mentioned above. All of these abilities can be easily obtained in LIFE Splinter.

For AMPLIFY ability, I use Grandmaster Rathe who can give this ability to all monsters in the battle arena. If one monster loses, there are still other monsters that have AMPLIFY abilities to amplify the damage that we will later deal to the opponent. Grandmaster Rathe also provides VOID ARMOR which makes the entire ARMOR of my monsters useful to protect them from Magic Attack.

For the MAGIC REFLECT ability, I relied on Blinding Reflector as the main option and Pelacor Conjurer in the second position. Since most of the Magic monsters will attack the monsters in the first position, I put the monsters that have the MAGIC REFLECT ability in that position. Coupled with the VOID ARMOR that all monsters receive, especially Blinding Reflector, it allows them to receive attacks from the opponent's Magic monsters using their ARMOR.

To anticipate attacks from Melee monsters that have the SNEAK ability, I prepared Evelyn Auvera who has the THORNS ability so that she can hurt them when they successfully attack her. And instead of Evelyn Auvera just standing around taking attacks from the opposing monsters, I help her by giving Aves Sturgis who has the WEAPONS TRAINING ability. Aves Sturgis's WEAPONS TRAINING is a Magic Attack so he can attack from any position.

To complete my formation, I use Adelade Brightwing and Scavo Hireling. They both have the REPAIR ability which will be used to repair lost ARMOR, especially Blinding Reflector and Evelyn Auvera who might be the main targets of the opposing monsters.

I placed Scavo Hireling which is a No-Attack monster near Aves Sturgis so that it can gain Magic Attack power and help attack the opponent's monsters.

The ruleset for this battle is ARMORED UP (All monsters receive an additional 2 ARMOR), HEALED OUT (All healing abilities removed from Monsters and Summoners), and BROKEN ARROWS (Ranged monsters cannot be used in this ruleset)

In the first round, the attack from Scavo Hireling failed to hit the opponent's Pelacor Conjurer. Meanwhile, the attacks from other monsters (Blinding Reflector, Aves Sturgis, Evelyn Auvera, and Adelade Brightwing) managed to injure it. Even so, Aves Sturgis, Evelyn Auvera, and Adelade Brightwing took damage through MAGIC REFLECT when they attacked Pelacor Conjurer.

On the opponent's side, Uraeus and Stitch Leech attacked Evelyn Auvera but they were also damaged by the THORNS ability that Evelyn Auvera had. Djinn Renova attacked Blinding Reflector but only hit his ARMOR because now his ARMOR has the VOID ARMOR ability so the Magic Attack does not directly hit Health points. Djinn Renova also took damage from Blinding Reflector's MAGIC REFLECT ability. Meanwhile, Celestial Harpy attacked Aves Sturgis.

In the second round, Scavo Hireling successfully landed his attacks and defeated the opponent's Pelacor Conjurer. The Djinn Renova who now occupies the first position was also defeated in this round thanks to attacks from Blinding Reflector, Aves Sturgis, and Evelyn Auvera. The Celestial Harpy who took her place received an attack from Adelade Brightwing.

On the opposing side, Celestial Harpy and Temporal Master attacked Blinding Reflector. However, Temporal Master took damage as his attack was returned using the MAGIC REFLECT ability. Stitch Leech attacked Evelyn Auvera again despite taking damage through the THORNS ability which now reduced her Health points (due to no ARMOR protecting her). Meanwhile, Uraeus failed to land his attack on Evelyn Auvera this time.

In the third round, almost all of the opponent's remaining monsters were defeated. Celestial Harpy was defeated by Scavo Hireling, Stitch Leech was defeated by Blinding Reflector, and Uraeus was defeated by Aves Sturgis and Evelyn Auvera.

Meanwhile, Temporal Master managed to survive the attack of Adelade Brightwing because he had more Health points than the damage he received. Only in the fourth round, Temporal Master was defeated by Scavo Hireling.

Battle Review

I can get victory easily this time because the opponent uses monsters that match my predictions. Where he brought Melee monsters that have SNEAK abilities and brought 2 Magic monsters. I was also lucky this time because WATER Element was not available. If they (WATER Element) were available, then this strategy could have failed because WATER Element has many Melee monsters with high Attack power and Magic monsters that have VOID abilities.
